dodgy water pump

can anyone tell me how much of mission it is to change the waterpump on my 1997 vr?also im a bit of a novice on engines and things, is the pump on the back right corner of the engine near the top?

the water pump can be done if you know what you doing....mine has just gone but i am sending it in to be done as i dont have the time

you need to loosen engine mounts/jack up engine/remove belt and tensioner then remove pump while engine is lifted as you cant get it out without lifting engine

i think if you have patience and a good haynes book to go by then you should be ok but since i have got my charger and bits in the way i have opted to have it done

is yours making a funny noise or leaking?

sounds like the auxiliary water pump, an easy job to change, the other normal pump is a bit more tricky
