ez_101 1
Right guys, last night i fitted my BMC using the guide on here (thanks) anyway this morning i start my car as normal but it looses revs and was very jolty (only thing i can describe it) when it warmed it it felt quite slugish on the accelatrator, now im no expert but could there be some water in the MAF sensor? or the BMC to close to the drivers side headlight (not getting enough air) pics and ideas of what to do much appreciated.thanks! Ben Seabrook 4
dirty MAF I would think then mate - easy to clean with some electrical contact cleaner
ez_101 1
i stalled it 3 times today, due to it loosing revs when pulling off, is this the BMC doing its thing or do i have an issue?
Ben Seabrook 4
BMC should not cause that mate - did u check and clean the MAF ? I presume it had never done this before you fitted the BMC ? also does your's have a coilpack ?
spoonman2 2
I will add to this: I put a 57i on my VR6 and it now ticks over 200 revs lower than it did with the standard airbox on it :/I have no idea why, seems sluggish on tickover.
ez_101 1
Im not sure about coilpack, its ODB1 M reg think its a dizzy. checked and cleaned the maf, the plug that plugs in to maf was out when i was cleaning wondering if it got damp?!Yea mine is about 200 revs lower and then when i pull off it drops loads and i have to push the pedal to give it loadsa revs.... and is also a bit sluggish, which makes me think is there enough air getting through to it? Ben Seabrook 4
well mine is OBD1 M reg and has a coilpack - would check because a if that has a few cracks in it that would also cause the issues you are describing mate - if the mag plug did get a bit damp it is easy to dry it out with a hairdryer but go gently !! xyber 1
bit of WD40 in the MAF plug will get that damp outdid you touch the charcoal canister at all?
ez_101 1
No didnt touch it! surely WD40 will make it more damp? Sorry i may be wrong dude it may have a coilpack, i always thought it was just dizzy. Will have a look and clean all connections.Does anyone have any pics of a BMC fitted please?
