noise from r32 when igntion switched off

Recommended Posts

hi guys,

recently bought myself a 53 plate r32, and the only query ive got is this strange nois from behind the lower bumper grill when i swith he engine off. it amost sounds like a small fan turning, but ticking really loud like as if its either stuck or catching something? anyone any ideas what this could be? it doesnt do it al the time just now and again. if im to turn the ignition back on, it stops dead and all is wuiet, but continues to make a racket when you turn the key back off again. eventually it slows down and stops on its own.

its definatley not loud enough or heavy enough to be the main fans making a noise, it sounds more like one of those cheap little fans you get on holiday to keep your face cool!

any help is much appreciated

James

Yes that's the location of the Aux pump that should pump coolant around the engine for 10 minutes after you switch off the ignition. It should be a very faint, smooth pumping sound though no ticking etc it could be shot - get it checked out.
