VR6Pete 1,455
the standard engine mounts for the VR are quite honestly shite anyway.... are you only getting the noise when your accelerating hard? bazz780 0
nope happens almost all the time, clonk clonk lonk, driving slow over lil ditches etc ,and when i pull off the lights, shocks are brand new coilovers and mounts for these have been checked already,
acf8181 0
if its to do with the engine moving too much then it will only happen when you change your throttle position (applying or lifting off).if its just doing it over bumps it ain't cause of engine mounts. if that were the case i'd immediately check if the exhaust hadn't fallen off the hangers (as is common on mkII golfs), but as you said you've had that checked i'm really lost for ideas. DundeeDub 0
i get that clonking noise, but its only one clonk when applying of lifting off the throttle, just changed my gear box mount and going to be changing the other engine mounts, can't remember if i have heard it since changing the gearbox mount though
