BigSi 0
Time to be Dumb!I have seen loads of comments about Shrick Inlet Manifolds..... but what I haven't figured out is exactly what one is! Yes I know what an Inlet Manifold is (for those that were really worried about me!) but how does the Shrick one differ from a standard one? What improvements will it make?Is it a mod you can do in isolation or do you need to do other mods to get the benifit from it?And how much do they cost?Cheers in advance for the help! VR6Pete 1,455
well, I'll start with the cost first....your talking in the region of £1,199 for a schrick manifold, it's not cheap! Here is my schrick inlet manifold: Generally a remap goes well with the VGI manifold, but generally you wont have a problem with pinking on the later cars..it gives you oooozzzeesss of low end torque and a really strong surge to the redline. I'm sure the other guys will give you all the technical stuff.
Eat this 2
it varies the length of the inlet it switches at around 4k rpm i think thus giving huge torque low down then when it switches it gives more oooomph high up vw were toying with the idea of fitting them when they designed the vr6 engine but decided not to becuz they cost to much
Sarge-Devil 0
I was gonna ask the same question...but to ask this dumb question..what power increase do you get for your bucks?I'm always interested in gettung performance bits..but if its cost effected..not if it just helps a bit...what we talking about..10 - 20 bhp or 10 - 20 % more power.. :? acf8181 0
from what i understand the figures aren't that impressive, but the way it alters the characteristics of the engine is the big bit...from what i get it makes it drive kind of like a 4cyl 8v and 4cyl 16v put together (so power at low rpms and at high rpms)
BigSi 0
Cheers for that guys
jedi-knight83 0
it will only give you about 10bhp at the top end.. but it will give you loads more torque at 3500rpm..instead of the standard 4500 rpm.see the link in my signature to the recent rolling road day. My torque came in earlier than everyone elses and on the road that makes a huge difference
