thegoth 5
Is thiis anygood in a VR6 engine? just wondering if worth changing or just using the usual 92 unleaded?cheers!Where are you buying your petrol? Aldi?? 92RON that's like 2 star in the old money. UK unleaded is usually 96RON. This will be absolutily fine for your VR. Some people use ultimate / optimax religoiusly though for the 'better cleaning' and i must admit to the odd tank full of Tesco 99RON before rolling roads / 1/4miles
craggsy 91
Ive been using tescos 99 ron while petrol prices have been cheap....rude not too
bobveedub 0
cheers! so using premium aint gonna knacker up my engine or the running? even if used with existing normal fuel in the tank?
thegoth 5
I stand corrected about the levels ( 95 not 96 ) but the names are premium for the 95 and super for 98+, Stanard is the old 2 star which is rare in the UK, more usual on the continent though.
bobveedub 0
cool well ill fill me tank up with super petrol then,M5 here i come!
Roan 0
Sainsburys Super Unleaded is the same as BP Ultimate (BP supply Sainsburys) but can be 10p/litre cheaper. That's what I use and no problems in over 2 years...
Moochalargo 0
Look inside the fuel filler flap!!I think you will find "only use super unleaded"I try to only run mine with optimax!! even when it was £1.30 a litre
Abi 0
I run ALL my cars on Shell Fuel...Had problems in the past with different fuels... VR and the race bus (when running on the road) run on Vpower, all the rest on normal 95 petrol or dieselSome of the cars i have owned you can really tell the difference with the MPG and performance depending on the fuel

bobveedub 0
well tried a tank of premium and hasnt made a difference at all with MPG or performance?
gavinvr6 0
at the prices at the moment try running tesco 99ron, all the time you can get it for less than a quid its well worth it. standard 95ron is perfectly fine for a vr6. using higher octane fuel on standard/lightly modded engines dont really give any gains, but does burn cleaner so is better, but for the forced boys id say 99 ron all the way, they will benefit from the extra points
Ben Seabrook 4
well tried a tank of premium and hasnt made a difference at all with MPG or performance?not sure you would notice the extra couple of bhp tbh mate but I do always use the premium fuels
