j933 vrd 0
what sort of difference in 0-60 / 1/4 mile time will a 3.94 final drive box do to a 200bhp vr? thanks
Lizard Racing 0
Whats your red line? I could just about hit 60 without the need to change at 7000rpm+. Mid range acceleration was amazing. I fitted a 0.71 5th also so 5th stayed the same as standard for cruising. As for 1/4 mile should in theory be better provided you can use 1st without lighting the tyres up.
j933 vrd 0
7k i think (limiter was defo raised a bit anyway), is it a big job to do the .71 5th gear? will the box actually take any time off 0-60 then? thanks andyTake it u recomend the close ratio then? how much top end will i lose? Lizard Racing 0
You need to pull 5th out of the box to swap the final drive anyway. It will be quicker to 60 with the shorter ratios. 4th gear will be perfect for the rolllers if you dyno the car alot which I used to do. I have to confess I will be keeping my 02m ratios stock when I fit it next year with the 3.6. If I was sticking with a 12v I would stick with the close ratio one. If you put a 0.71 5th you will gain a tiny bit on the top end, I mean 2 mph at 160 or so.

gavinvr6 0
how hard is it to change the final drive and possibly 5th? i want quicker 0-60 but slightly lengthen 5th for motorway work since most of my car's time is spent at motorway speeds except when im chasing my mates r32
