Nerih 0
slipped or broke. Check the physical connections with the motor and the pulley thingy, i dont think its too hard, check vw vortex they have a DIY i think.
jambojones10 0
Right. The garage by me have checked the sunroof and reckon the motor and mechanism are knackered so they reckon with labour is gonna be about a grand to sort it out. Do you think this is about right or are they talkin sh"t????
acf8181 0
thats silly money, get it all second hand and fit it yourself...i know of a vr6 being broken as well.
antera309 3
They're taking the michael.Get the bits 2nd hand from a scrappy and fit them yourself. The Haynes Mk3 Golf manual explains the procedure pretty well.
andy 0
Right. The garage by me have checked the sunroof and reckon the motor and mechanism are knackered so they reckon with labour is gonna be about a grand to sort it out. Do you think this is about right or are they talkin sh"t????That's the most ridiculous quote I've ever heard in my life. My Golf has a broken sunroof and so has my new toy (Corrado), I need to sort them both out but am not expecting to pay more than a hundred quid to sort both. These sunroofs are fitted to just about every VW post early 90s, two a penny mate.
Nerih 0
agree, a grand is frigging rediculous...tell em to shove it! Like these guys have said, get to a scrappy or you could probalby source the parts new from euro for less LOL!
jambojones10 0
Right got a complete new sunroof, mechanism, everything for £50. How hard is this gonna be to fit? I take it you need take the roof lining out? Got the haynes manual but theres nothing in there about sunroof's.
andy 0
I changed mine yesterday! Had to get the headlining down which meant removing the a, b and c pillar trim. Swap roof over (10 ish bolts), all back in again. Problem is the mechanism I got to replace it was worn in a differebt way aaaaaaaagh. It has to come out again, 9 hours it took me last time ;-( ACF is there a working sunroof on the car you know of thats being broken?
