To reply to one question, the head gasket was done a while ago, so i believe the chain and tensioner were done as well, and its got 125k on the clock, but still sounds very good, well it should do after a engine rebuild :P , i am going the shrick route so i will be looking out for one soon after the rado has gone, and i have a K&N 57i kit but have just taken it off as find it makes the car pull about the same (needs a clean though), and an exhaust is next on my list, plus being a K i dont need a cat :)

Schrick VGI Manifold, BMC CDA Filter, Supersprint exhaust and a remap should get you just over 200bhp and a decent increase in torque for about £1700 all in.

A 2nd-hand Corrado 2.9 engine with just the filter, exhaust & remap will give you similar figures for about the same amount of money as long as you can fit the engine yourself.

Or you can fit a supercharger yourself and spend about £2500, giving something in the region of 220-230bhp.

guess we'll never truely know where the switchover was then.

I thought it was 96? so some N plate cars could be OBD1... mintys had early spec bumpers etc so its no surprise its OBD1... maybe the changeover was a bit of a gradual thing which would explain there being some exceptions to the rule... weirdest one Ive seen is an N plate highline with square side repeaters ! B)

i was originally under the impression that it was '96...but then i read in a couple of places that its was mid '95 (at the m/n switchover). i don't always truely trust the bentley as its a US manual so there are differences to what we have over here.

still, the highline with square indicators is easy to explain...prob had a frontal accident and had the wrong wings put on.

you sure? .

errr....I think mark knows his own car......... but yes it is obd1..........I can confirm as will olly..........ive seen many 'N' reg obd 1 vr...... early N-1995 which was 1' date='...late n was 2....................you really should reed that bently service manual more carefully next time......lol :P:P [/quote']

oi, i'm just trying to learn stuff here...and as said before it ain't always a good idea to 100% trust the bentley.
