ok thanx for all the info, im jus weighing out the cost this month as ive seen a few other bits im in need of too

what are the alternative to ross tech, at the end of the say its just an electronic cable, i cant see why it shoudl cost so much

btw my car is a 93 l plate obd1

but i swear the diagnostic port is just that normal 16 pin thing' date=' not the 2x2 style

does that sound possible?

Mines the same... Does that mean i can just plug it and use the VAG.com software that i have for ODB2? Same software can be used for both?

hopefully ill have an answer for you tomo phat vr

my cousin does have all the vagcom stuff n hes hooked it up for me before but he lives quite a distance n is always working

i think ill have to bug him tomo and ask him what exactly did he do to to connect up his vagcom to my car
