craggsy 91
Try a different version of VAGCOM mine works fine with latest but its a genuine lead not an ebay jobbie
jws vr6 0
Lead i have is off ebay, says autonostics on it and i bought seperatley from the Vag-com disc. Found a post on here saying that someone had to cut off the plastic round the outside of one of these leads to get it to connect properly, so mite try that.
james4287 1
keep us posted, i have the exact same trouble with a usb lead from ebay.
jws vr6 0
Tried cutting of the plastic on the lead so it was level with the pins and still no joy. Think im going to try to find another cable and try that
mightymidget 0
The one I got off ebay will only run with the free shareware version of VAG-COM which is version 409.1. You need to ensure the cable is plugged into the car and the ignition on, as the cable gets it's power from the car not the USB port. Also try ticking 'force dumb mode' in 'options' when testing for the cable connection. MM
VR6Pete 1,455
The problem you have is that the newer versions of vag com will only work with the cables ross tech supply, as the software is no longer activated with a serial number, but rather with a built in activation dongle that comes with the cable.I know for a fact specific versions are picky with what cables are used, I just ended up down the route of purchasing direct from ross tech.If you are really stuck, check the vag-com helpers thread in dub chat.regards, pete
craggsy 91
Easiest way by far is the ross tech way....I did and no hassles what so ever
