Hi peeps,i have a 1994 2.8 vr6 golf and have started having starting problems.

This only happens when the engine is cold,as-soon as the engine warms up everything is ok.

It seems as if the problem is getting worse. When i start from cold it seems like the choke isnt cutting in because it will just stall unless i leave my foot on the gas.after a few minutes its ok when the engine is warm.any help will be muchly appreciated.

cheers adam

If I got it right.. it tells the computer what the engine temperature is so that optimum driveability is realized while the engine is warming up and when the engine has reached operating temperature. If it's cold the automatic choke kicks in to stop the engine stumbling/hesitating by keeping the revs high and increasing the fuel/ignition.
