Earwig 89
Not good m8 !I kerbed one of my BBS splits on monday ! :-(They are doing the roads near my house and have cobbled a small area but never finished it, as I drove over they broke up, came away and my card dropped down into the hole left my the cobble which had now moved up the side of my rim taking chunks out of it on the way ! !I am now claiming for it. Supposedly passed on to their insurace already.Wheels are still £298 each to buy so what I might do is, if they give me the money, sell the wheels on as they are and drop down to some nice polished 16's.Keep us updated on how you go with things :-)Mark. xyber 1
Id go to small claims court mate, it really pisses me off that we pay massive taxes on anything to do with motoring and the roads are still in a shit state. In my local paper last week, my local council had £1,000,000 to spend on the roads last year and the amount they actually spent was....da daa daa daaaaah £39,750! Ive actually got to avoid some roads as the potholes play havoc with my lowered car! For a start all speed camera fines should go straight towards road maintainence as should road tax. Nice one on taking pics though coz theyll try and say that they filled it long before you hit it!
ventovr6essex1 0
by posting the pics i also have proof that it was not filled before this morning i even phone the highways adgency thismorning spoke to some bloke took all the details down and at 3pm the hole was still there . i would except it if it was a normal pot hole but it through the tarmac and into the hardcore underneath . plus some1 has marked it out for repair so why the f***k didnt they put a couple or shovels of tramac in it till it could be done properly . what is the road tax for ??? really P*ss*d me off my car is now undrivable as it pulls hard to the left and braking is a joke . back to my push bike. maybe thats it they want every body off the road . bobda 0
My dad had a similar experience recently in his Volvo S60. The front O/S wheel went into a dip and the underside of the engine hit a raised manhole cover, resulting in a nasty vibration on tickover. He went through his insurance and the cost was over £1k for new engine mounts, sump, lower crossmember etc and the council will be paying back his excess. I'm pretty sure the insurance co said it won't affect his no claims either.
