lee060 3
Need to look good as well' date=' for all the times we sit at traffic lights.....and driving by those big windows you can see your reflection in [/quote']true point , but imo £2000 spent on looks will never develop the smile that £2000 spent on the engine will . agree??as long as the paint is good and shiny the rims are good and compliment the car and its nice and low . you cant really fault that look?? matth76 1
In my own experience I'd do the following:- lower your suspension, I went for the often overlooked budget GMAX suspension but it's actually very good quality and recommended by the phirm who fitted mine. Can't fault it and it lowers your car approx 40mm and looks and handles perfectly. - Next I would fit a Milltek full exhaust system. - Fit a BMC air filter- Fit some 268 cams (best power for your bucks, unless you go for supercharger which is expensive). I got some barely used second hand Eurospec ones for just over £200. Go for either Eurospec, Shrick or Cat cams. They produce a very good spread of power around the rev range. All in all you're looking at around 10-15bhp increase (with the cams, exhaust and air filter).- Remap (vital if you're fitting cams). This gets the fuelling spot on otherwise you can say goodbye to your engine. Remap is the same price as an off the shelf chip but far far better! Budget around £300 for Stealth's custom remap. Stealth racing the guys for this.By the way the exhaust and air filter make very little difference in power and are mainly for looks and sound (the stock exhaust is extremely efficient) - so if you just want the power just go for the cams and the remap. Personally I would avoid going for a decat or high flow cat and especially a stainless six branch. All made very little difference on my car but cost a fair amount! Plus six branches are very prone to getting blows. The main specialists don't recommend them for this reason.I stuck with the stock 15" bbs alloys as I personally like them especially when they're polished nicely On a lowered VR they suit it perfectly.Hope all this helps mate.
