purple highline monster 0
Had my car mot`d today, passed with flying colours...well......untill it got to the emmisions part :@ fooking mot tester wouldnt pass it even though the CO was only 0.54 when it needs to be below 0.30, so now i have the dilema......i have ordered a genuine vw lambda £80 which will be here in the morning to fit, im just hoping its not the kat aswell :-# hopefully its just the lambda and that will sort it, has anyone else had this before? or have any other thoughts on it? i hate electrical gremlins and emmision stuff!!! a 2,8 engine is hardly enviromentally friendly anyway so why so fussy!!! purple highline monster 0
nope, dont think its the cat, its only readind just over the co limit, if it was the cat aswell it would be mega over that

cabrioman 6
its just in front of the cat err about a 22 or 24 mm i think and the plug is on top of the rear engine mount ..
purple highline monster 0
cheers mate, i found the plug end when looking in the bay at the downpipes, but the cars so low i couldnt see under far enough to see where it went or the cat, i will smash the granny out of it tommorow and update if its sorted, which i hope it is, as i would hate to have to burn it i am seriously hankering after another mk2 G60 though :-| dunno why? just fancy another one, maybe even another rallye? if i could find the right one, a G60 edition one would be cool though, the noise of the charger would make up for the six pot, especially after its been G werks`ed (6)
Goldie 0
if the probe dont fix it, let me know 1st, ill take it off ur hands, pre burning

IbiVR 0
Hope it works, but i'd have to agree with goldie, sounds like cat.....Fingers x'dTom.
Seademon 0
Good luck Nick - always best to fit OEM lambda probe, patent ones make the car run too lean & therefore are a waste of money and false economy cos you'll only end up buying a Vw one anyway!
purple highline monster 0
yeah cheers chaps, if it is the cat im not paying 300 for a new one, one of you guys must have one if i need it? i cant complain the cars been spot on since i bought it 3 years ago and this is the first problem i have had with it, and its easily sorted so cant be too harsh on the car i suppose
cadguy77 0
If you need a cat sorting, the phirm have loads laying around the yard. or better yet get them the mot it, i did with a de-cat
purple highline monster 0
cool cheers cadguy, fitted the probe, well after i had removed half the exhaust and sworn at it a few times, the sensor was nigh impossible to get out whilst on the car as its on top of the kat, needed new gasket and bolts too, still the probe i took out was only a normal bosch one not vw so i guess it must have been replaced before? new ones in and it seems? fine, will see on saturday if its cured it, while the kat was off had a really good look at it and its spot on inside and dont rattle or anything so i believe its ok, fingers crossed
