mina 0
You could use an old vacuum hose and cut the length you need - it's mostly 32-38mm in diameter. B&Q also do metal ducting if you prefer.
binliner 0
Is this to relocate your filter as opposed to ducting air to the filter?
jcorallo 0
yes - so it needs to be that 3inch stuff
binliner 0
could you use silicone for the bends and some plastic tubing from B&Q (drainpipe or something?) for the straight bits?
jcorallo 0
Nah - thanks for the suggestion but I found this place - http://www.flexiblehose.co.uk/ - its a bit far for me to travel, and I suspect they only sell to Industry in 10m lengths.....
binliner 0
bloody 'ell... hoses r us!!you could always get 10m and relocate it to the roof! or sell what you dont need... I'll have some depending on which one it is you get
binliner 0
that site is pretty good... found some ducting hose the size you get with the bmc but plastic so it should be flexible enough to squeeze a way down into the front lower grill
jcorallo 0
yeah - I need to speak to them cos there are very few items on that site that would do for Automotive apps. I want to relocate my MAF using ducting (instead of Samcos and Stainless steel piping) - so the stuff needs to be flexible, tough and non porous.Jules
DundeeDub 0
I want some rubber/plastic hose for my BMC, anyone else??
binliner 0
for the cold air feed? me too I think a group buy is in order
binliner 0
http://www.flexiblehose.co.uk/vinylflex.htmthe black one in 3.5" diameter looks about right to me? (although I haven't checked the size)
jcorallo 0
The VR6 intake is 3 inches or 76mmhttp://www.flexiblehose.co.uk/superelastic.htmlooks OK but not entirely sure about the use of PVC in a car intake system. I'm sure I've seen something about it messing the car up....Also, http://www.flexiblehose.co.uk/unielastic.htm looks like it might be OK.Both these have the Automotive symbol at the top of the pages...Jules
jcorallo 0
if we do a group buy, and the min is 10m, I'd be down for at least 3m... then its sell the rest off in 1m chunks minimum per person......also - its not really a group buy, more of a "tear and share"!Jules[ Edited Mon Jan 12 2004, 01:25PM ]
binliner 0
Im talking about the cold air feed going into the filter though rather than the other side and I think thats bigger than 3" on the bmc... do you think the one Ive mentioned would be suitable for that or not durable enough? Im after maximum flexibility reallymaybe 2 group buys are in order?[ Edited Mon Jan 12 2004, 02:02PM ]

binliner 0
cool... I did wonder if that was the plan!whats wrong with the set up above then?
jcorallo 0
background: I'm trying to put my MAF infront of the supercharger to make it pull through instead of blow through. The above setup worked a treat - car ran 100% - but the pipes rusted so I had to remove them. Couldnt find 3inch stainless at the time.Main problem is that I have to have the MAF quite far away infront of the charger (as you can see) otherwise the car runs rich. I'm thinking flexihose might solve this and allow me to stuff it in the drivers wheel arch space.Jules
