matth76 1
HiI have removed the three nuts on each side of the car to remove the bit of plastic (splash guards) just to the front of the tyres. Now I just need to "unclip" the front spoiler. However there seems to be no easy way of doing it...without breaking the plastic. Is there a special technique to unclipping the spoiler? I have tried various combinations of movements like holding it down, tilting it up, moving it sideways, pulling it outwards, but it won't budge...really worried the plastic is going to crack with the force I'm pulling it.. can't be doing it right.Need to take the front spoiler off because I'm having the car towed to a bodyshop garage on Fri as some idiot backed into my rear wheel arch last week, caving it all in. Luckily he left his number on my windscreen (he's a neighbour and may have thought I might have seen it.. plus he said same had happened to him a few weeks earlier and no body left their num)... guess there are some good guys out there. Anyway...looking at 2 to 3 weeks without the VR. Getting it all done on insurance (or rather through the third party's insurance) and have a hire car in mean time. It's a Golf "Plus" tdi. Its an absolutely huge car but when the turbo kicks in it has a nice thump but power band isn't huge being a diesel. Going to miss the "smooth" vr engine and power! Thanks for any help.
