Cheap or not?

I've got some new wheels for the golf and i want the two rear tyres on my car put on 2 of the new wheels for the front and 2 tyres taken off some steels to put on the rear. Then all balanced etc and ready to roll. I've been quoted £50 cash by a garage near me.... is this ok?

Sounds bloody expensive unless they are doing the tracking. Usually ( in my area) it costs £5 per tyre to be removed if they keep the tyre..

Kwik Fit are normally expensive so if they can beat your local garage that means your local garage is very expensive mate. Look else where.

whenever ive needed to do this sorta thing i go to the local kwik-fit on a sunday when the management isnt about. when the manager isnt there i find that the guys generally do the work for free as long as theres a couple of beers in it for them:)

my local tyre place i use charge £10 for tyre strip/swap valve and balance, includes disposal of carcass, some places charge more + vat

Like said, going down on a Sunday is a bonus sometimes. I had a tyre resealed for £3 on a Sunday! Lol.

£40 sounds good... thats 4 tyres removed then 4 tyres refitted plus valves and balancing

i payed 40 in the end cus they were suplyin the tyres......otherwise 80
