Paul1982 0
In the body panel world you are totally right - u do get for what you pay for.I had a similar problem a few months ago.One wing was rusty and my drives door was and there was scratches here and there.Lucky as my mate is in this trade he ground the rust of and rebuild the certain areas. Plus re-newed the sills as the mk3 is prown to then rotting. So i had all that done and a full body mop and it cost me £450.Thought that was a bargain been as 80% of the car looked brand new :-)£1400 does seem high but if they are highly recommended then you can have every confidence in them.Good luck!! Earwig 89
It could be a mistake you later regret.Once rust sets in you will be amazed out how quickly it gathers pace !I left mine for 1 year and ended up with a big mess to try and sort out. Not pretty.......I know it's a long old drive to me, but if you could find another car I am sure my guy will sort you out ;-)Mark.

purple highline monster 0
as long as its not a dingy dusty oily workshop and the guy has an oven to ensure the base primer and top coat harden properly then thats a good deal....if he just sprays in the open air of a dirty workshop it will have more marks than ron jeremys ar5e in the laquer and paint

Homz 0
told them i just want front end repray but he wont even quote me and says it will look crap (cus of matchin pannels)? what sort of body shop is that then? i just had the front end of mine painted and you wouldnt even know!!! no lines' date=' no colour variation its blended perfectly, not a blemish, i paid £400 they done the bonnet, both wings and both front doors blended up to the handles, same guy done both my bumpers and grille trim for £200 when i first got it, if you cant trust him to match paint how does he normally do a repair? or does he paint a whole car every time one needs a panel or bumper? i would look elsewhere, as for the smoothed tail gate.... why? i know styling is individual but smoothed is a bit old hat now? i think a USA spec gate looks better, and you can even get the small metal USA type number plates from Dubmeister now too you dont see many of those out there! except justins and martins ones [/quote']What bodyshop did you go to mate?...i've got a mullberry VR too, that could do with a bit of spaying and I'm near Kent..
