Brianvr 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Report Share Posted March 5, 2007 himy abs light, comes on intermitantly some drives no light at all,other times its on all the time.have had diagnostic computer connected,and it showed front right sencor intermitant signal,so got a new sensor from g.s.f.--fitted to o/s/f,as this was the side they confirmed was at fault.also checked the plugs and wiring looks o.k.was o.k. for a few drives then came back on again.so i fitted another sencor to the other side n/s/f.wiring looks o.k. ,but again light on intermitantly.need to sort it anyone got any ideas,is there a common fault i can sort or check,could it be the pump or abs ecu.cheers.brian. VR6Rich 3 Posted March 5, 2007 Report Share Posted March 5, 2007 Might be worth replacing the pump/ecu if you can find one cheap enough on eBay or a scrappy. Did it only show fault codes for the sensors? Mine is fubar at the mo too, managed to get a pump/ecu from eBay for £2.99 8-) so will be trying this as I have a fault code on the pump for mine. Brianvr 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Author Report Share Posted March 5, 2007 took it to the firm and there snap on machine said--right front sensor-double checked with them,and they were sure it was the drivers side-o/s/f,have now changed,both front,and light still intermitantly coming on.if i cant sort it i may sell it,what are they worth at the moment,its a r-97-metalic black 3dr golf vr6 highline,with 77000mls,and mint Link to post Share on other sites
purple highline monster 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Report Share Posted March 5, 2007 silly question but on the rear of the discs is the abs ring that reads the signal, if thats coroded and filthy that could be why? and dont ever assume the sensors you have fitted are working correctly i know someone who had 3 faulty ones in a row from a dealers!
