Just arrived home to find my alloys are waiting for me.

Excited as i am i didnt care its raining i was out there trying to fit them.

18 ASA AR1's - they looked the part but guess what, the buggers didnt fit, the centre point was up tight to my brake pad :-(

Dont really understand it as MOT's highline has the same ones but in 17's:

So u would think 18's would be bigger over the caliper - oh well i'm always wrong lol

Now have to get south west tyres to come pick them back up and i have to looks for another set.

Any ideas - as i have the money waiting?????

strange...SW should know to send you the right offset too, they seemed to know theyre stuff when i spoke to them!

ill try an get a pic up of my clearance - there's about 3mm between the spokes and the caliper, so rules 6 pots out!

im gonna get a TT 312mm setup an see if it goes behind or not (hope it does, i'll be charging it soon and want some decent stopping power)

Well there was a guy who had a TT 225 Sport and he had the AR1's put on his car. So yes if your wheels r on there now then the TT ones will be fine.

SW Tyres asked me if it was ok for them to grind my pads down so that they fit. Lol what kind of dumass comment was that????

No dumber than buying wheels without checking the offset ;)

Seriously theres nothing wrong with grinding a couple of mm off the calipers to gain clearance... depends how much needed to come off
