steveg60cab 0 Posted January 27, 2007 Report Share Posted January 27, 2007 i've only had my vr for a week, and due to an oversight of a lack of antifreeze, there's now a pinhole in my rad!!!!a new rad has got to go in, but looking at the 'bay, there's not a lot of room between the inlet manifold and the slampanel...so how do i get the bugger out?? inlet manifold off job?btw, it's a '96 golf Link to post Share on other sites

Kaz 0 Posted January 27, 2007 Report Share Posted January 27, 2007 It's not that big a job, un-clip the grille, take the head lights out, then it's 6 or 7 10mm bolts to take the bumper off. Then you have to remove the metal part of the cross member first, this is held on with 4 13mm bolts, then you can take the plastic slam panel off this holds the radiator, so you'll need to un-clip all the hoses before you can remove it - and the rad will come away with it. It's 2 bolts on the wing, and 4 or so that hold the metal part to the plastic part. Link to post Share on other sites
