Pittuf 0
Just had a couple of quote cos my insurance company won't insure me with the car lowered, (bastards)HIC said £1400, (blimey) and said I should speak to Adrian Flux. They said £1073, still alot but that does include mods, accidents and points. I was expecting it to be around the grand mark.Anywhere I should try. Not sure about the littler adds in the back of max power style mags, seem abit dodge, and probably wouldn't get the same benfits of Adrian Flux?
VR6Pete 1,455
wish i only had to pay a grand insurence lol

vdubgirl 3
HIC and Adrian Flux are generally the lowest have you tried to limit your milage or even go TPF&T
Pittuf 0
Definately wouldn't go TPF&t, can't risk it, too much money involved.Limited milage, I dunno, I hate being limited, never had a pay as you go phone for that reason.Pretty happy ( :? ) with Adrian Flux, as I said I was expecting to pay a grand. Only got myself to blame for turning into an idiot when i got the XR3i and having a stupid needless accident.[ Edited Mon Jun 28 2004, 04:01PM ]
VR6Steve 0
Also give Greenlight a try, although Adrian Flux was cheaper than my other half's renewal from Greenlight. Funnily enough they both quoted from the same underwriter?

DundeeDub 0
i got a quote off admiral for £420 lowered and induction kit fully comp, 1 year no claims. very very cheap but i did lower the miles down to 6000 and changed my job to an operations manager instead of a bar manager, with will hopefully be my job within a month anyway. went through http://www.confused.com[ Edited Mon Jun 28 2004, 10:09PM ]
acf8181 0
try elephant, and add a parent as a second driver...will bring quote down a fair bit.also may be worth putting the excess up (wouldn't go over £500 though), this will bring the premium down.
Pittuf 0
Cheers guys :-)Admiral wouldn't insure me at all with the car lowered, they think i've jacked it up back to normal height at the mo, lol
vwmadgirl 0
i agree im with elephant, just myself, fully comp is £420 for me , i found them the cheapest and i tryed everywhere aswell..... :-)
alivr6 0
try brentacre insurance, there price's include mods to the car at no extra charge (wheels,exhaust,suspension,engine,etc.etc.) you can get there number from the back of pvw.
dub_weiser 0
I'd say try elephant, I'm paying £634 4ncb and limited to 4000 (got 2 cars) and thats insured in london. Cheapest I got prior to that was £900 thru Adrian Flux. Annoying but ring round you will get it cheaper.
Pittuf 0
Elephant wouldn't insure me with the car lowered.Went with greenlight in the end for £987. Still quite a bit, but it was for all mods and my dodgy driving record, 3 points and 2 accidents with 2 years no claims. Was expecting it to be alot!
Guest rossi
have you triedfirst alternative, im 45 full ncb no points, standard r reg vr6 £380 fc
hades998 0
I found elephant unpredictable. they quoted me (27, 5yrs NCD and 3 points) £400 comp with 17" alloys. Bought the car then they say £650! I was with Adrian Flux for my Renault they want $460 for the golf but if i pay monthly the total is £608! Why dont these people just get a gun?I dont want to sound old, but when i was 19 i had a Mk2 escort Mexico. 2.1 group A engine and the race suspension e.t.c. It was 90% increase in power over standard. My insurance was still only £850 with 0 NCD and only 2 yrs experience (on the road) It doesnt seem to have lowered that much in 8 years!Anyone got HIC's number?
