acf8181 0
could it still be the ISV...which i've cleaned twice now...it wouldn't idle when cold at first, then i cleaned it, then it started stuttering on the motorway on long trips, cleaned it again, and still stutters.how much is a new ISV? acf8181 0
done fault codes last week (so haha), showed up speedo sensor prob (obvious as speedo dont work), cam sensor (but suspect engine was off when checked), and ISV prob (adaption speed not reached - whatever that means. suspected that was cause it wasn't idling)
mightyvr6 0
it would stutter if it was the cam sensor or do you mean the engine sensor?
acf8181 0
all the bloke wrote donw was engine speed sensor...so would be cam sensor.
28v6r 0
Stuttering could be any of the following1/ Ht side i.e Leads, plugs etc2/ Fuel side, pump on poor delivery, fuel regulator faulty or filter breaking down and cloging the feed line.3/ Faulty fuel relay, making & breaking common problems on golfs & raddos.Try that and see what you think.... mightyvr6 0
the engine speed sensor isn't the cam sensor.
acf8181 0
ok, recently had leads/plugs/fuel filter.anyway of testing the relay?wheres the engine speed sensor loacted then?
mightyvr6 0
engine speed (crank) sensor is on the front of the block, below the oil filter housing. If this wasn't working the engine wouldn't run at all.airlock in the fuel line?Plug lead which isn't seated on a a plug?[ Edited Tue Jun 29 2004, 08:11PM ]
