acf8181 0
anyone got powerflex bushes on their vr6?i fitted mine, and the car is now really nervous and twitchy. i'd originally put it down to new tyres not being bedded in, but its quite rediculous!now, as some of you may know, i have done a bit of racing, and a twitchy car doesn't usually scare me, but this is quite rediculous. i can't even lift smoothly on a gentle curve whilst at 'normal person' speeds with out the rear getting unsettled. also any bump on even a slight curve is a problem.if i get a smooth road surface, i still get massive turn in oversteer (and that with super smooth steering input), then a large dose of mid to late corner understeer. its keeping me on my toes, anyone els had similar handling with powerflex bushes? Joe M 0
Ive got powerflex on my corrado and dont get any of that, cant see why it would cause it on a golf either.Have you checked the tyre pressures since you had the new tyres fitted? I dont think ive ever had new tyres put on and found them at the factory pressures.
gazbrook 0
i only had my car a day with powerflex bushes before it was back in the garage but i can remember it being more sensitive on bumps on a straight , that was expected due to stiffer bushes,i feel it was better and more predictable as to when it would start to lose grip on the back end when i was giving it some on the bends. Powerflex do different stiffness of bushes don't they?? Mine are purple coloured , not sure if they are colour coded in respect to stiffness etc as a lot are yellow, it might be an idea to check that out, it does sound a bit unusual tho for a mod that is supposed to make it handle better.
