Time for another update. It's unbelievable how fast time goes past. I've been working on the car on week night's, once the little one's in bed. The exhaust system is completed and fitted to the car. Heat wrapped the downpipe down to the flexi.

Not getting much help? Ha. Try have a look at this. See if it gives you ideas? This is what a good friend of mine done on his build thread. http://uk-mkivs.net/topic/91141-mk4-4motion-20-16v-turbo-build/page-14 -
Labeled my ecu plug tails. Going to try and use the M-Tech v4 self programmable ecu. Got it powered up to see if everything was working as should be. Turns out I wasn't getting any MAP. When I soldered in a new map sensor there was no difference but after giving it to a friend he diagnosed the problem. The sensor had been soldered in the wrong way from the start. The ecu had been running an N/A throttle body setup and hadn't been using the map sensor. Flipped it round and resolderd, job done. Still need to get her rigged up to a VR sensor and see if I get RPM.

No way of swinging the turbo up the way? Top mount it you like? Bit of fab work like. Would be nice to leave the brake servo as is. -

Bought in some pipe for external wastegate, so got on with that. Decided against a screamer pipe, think she'll be load enough

Cheers guys. Still trying to master the welding but getting better every run ☺

Center section. Ready to tig up.

Fabricated together the backbox using a 5" silencer and some of the 3" straight pipe. Mocked up and tacked the rear section. Things really start to tighten up when using 3" stuff

Bought 3 meter length's of 3 inch stainless exhaust pipe from eBay. Also orderd two 90 bends, one a tight, and six 45 bends. I found that was maybe a bit excessive. Also bought 3" v-clamps and flanges, a joiner and clamp, and a 4" long flexible. I then started mocking and tacking up the downpipe.

Hard to believe its been four month's since my last update! Not a lot done to be honest, considering the length of time. Been busy with the house and garden as it's the right time of year for all that jazz. Really need to pull my finger out if I want this project finished or at least on the road by the end of the year. Ok a little update. Changed my broken chain guide and put side cover and can cover with new gasket back on. Fitted new big end shells. There was nothing wrong with the original ones. Machined a couple oil return and External wastegate flanges.

Yeah, think I'll do the same, drive it a few miles with standard injector's etc, just to see if there's any issue's so far, leaks and what have you. Unfortunately stealths not an option for me, so I'll be trying to map it myself ☺ -

Nice one lad, good to see some progress. Takes time when you have other commitments. What like was the pump to fit? What injectors you using? -

Little update, done a little profile matching between the manifold and the exhaust housing, a bit anal but why not. The head has been off and valve stem seal's have been changed. Cleaned both head and block faces then put on the decomp plate and refitted and torqued down head. Next I put the cams and sprockets back in and timed it up. Gave the cam cover a quick paint and and lay it on top for now. Still waiting on a replacement chain guide as mine is Broken, then I'll get the timing cover back on. Profile matching Let the excess oil drain out Stripped the head Gave it all a good clea
