  2. Thanks for that info Steve do you know roughly how long this takes to do? as im up in the highlands of scotland and would need to drive the car down and stay a couple of days so they could do the job, pain in the arse living up here.

Can anyone tell me how to go about remapping an obd1 i have looked for the conector plug behind the cig lighter only to find 2 plugs each with 2 pins, as this car needs to be remapped as it lacks torq doesnt start pulling till atleast 3500 4000 rpm, also any places you could recommend would be good south yorkshire area as im there once a month.

  6. thanks guys for all your replys, ive bled the system replaced the oil kept bleeding until nothing but oil, now the bite point is half way which i think is about right although this is only the 2nd one i have owned, i bought the silver L reg that was advertised on here. seems to be running sweet as a nut now, does need a remap though.

  8. i have a question about the gear box in the VR now the number on the outer casing is 02a but the numbers on the inside of the casing apparently relate to a diesel gear box? does that sound right or should this be looked into in more detail?

  11. Ok so i just bought a VR which was advertised on here, now i have just had the clutch n flywheel replaced only to find that the pedal and bite point of the clutch are extremely high and the clutch slip in every gear.... any advice or ideas on what this fault could be? cheers guys
  12. cheers Lukey, i will change the ball joints and new rod ends and than see what its like and hopefully while doing these things i get to see what the problem is.
  13. ok so the turret is fine, i know it needs new wish bone bushes and ball joint which i have just not got round to fitting them yet. it was fine till i had her up on a trolly jack and let her down to fast then i noticed he wheel at the angle its at so too it to the garage where he said it would be a bent shock so i changed them but its obviously not that, so maybe its like bennyk says and its a bent hub from the drop off the jack? i dont know what it is but its really annoying me
  14. can anyone tell me what could be the problem with my drivers side wheel i know its at an angle in comparison with the other side but whats causing it? a guy at the garage told me a bent shock so i got new suspension and its still like that and i dont think there is any camber adjustments as its just 2 bolts the the shock
  15. thanks for that info Lukey. turns out nothing broken just the previous owner never put the bolts back in that held the window motor and obviously that was banging on the window when it was down, i did wonder what those bolts were for in the drivers side door storage thing when i got it. not only have i sorted the problem but also cured my curiousity of them bolts

  17. Hi guys can anyone tell me what the window sits on once its down? as when the drivers window is down and you go over a bump or even shutting the door with the window down you get a bad rattle, any thoughts on this before i start takeing things apart cheers guys.
  18. hi calico we tried the impact gun while the weight of the car was on the shock and it was just turning the piston. im actualy toying with idea of welding a bar onto the piston to hold it in place, but i kinda dont want to knacker the old shocks as they are bilstien and will look into maybe getting them repaired if you can repair them
  19. hey guys need some help here i have just tried to take my old shocks off the front and i cant undo the nut at the top of the shock it seems to be solid and have rounded the inside of the piston where the allan key goes so now the f ing thing just turns, has anyone got any tips for holding the piston still as to get the nut off??
