  1. Hi all. Happy belated Christmas to everyone. I have just wrote a post in members ride introducing myself and my car, so please take a look if your passing and will be looking forward to get to know some of you. Thanks Jake http://www.vr6oc.com/forum/topic/45773-my-1989-tornado-red-mk2-golf-vr6/
  2. Hi all, Iv been a member for a while but have never really posted anything, so thought I would introduce myself and my car. Im Jake and I drive a 1989 tornado red mk2 golf vr6. Iv owned the car for 2 years now and absolutely love it, but as the new year is coming, so are a few changes, so all of your advice and opinions would be much appreciated. The cars heart is a 2.8 vr6, standard engine with stainless exhaust, engine bay is in need of some attention as it is untidy, so the plans for the new year is to take the engine out and get the bay painted as well as cleaning and touching up
  3. Thanks for all the advice Pete. I'm going to get things started this weekend. When I have eventually finished it I will post up a picture. Thanks again
  4. Haha I know, would be pretty mad to do that lol It will be hard I imagine, will just have to see how I get on, if it is a nightmare I will just try and do the best I can lol
  5. Thanks for the advice guys, really appreciate it. As stupid as it sounds, never even thought of painting the engine with hammerite. Sounds like its going to be a bit of a pain de greasing the engine but will definatly be worth it once its done. Is there any particular bolts that you would recommend changing Pete? Your engine bay looks amazing by the way, love the samco hose's, been looking into getting some black ones once iv sorted the bay. Luke, it would be much easier to take my engine out like you did, just don't really have anywhere to do it other than my drive, so think its going
  6. Hi guys, Just looking for some advice. Going to be tidying up the engine bay over winter, I don't want to take the engine out so going to my best with the engine in. Just wondering if any one has any tips on products to get the block cleaned up? Think I will be taking the inlet and other bits of the get them painted. Would appreciate the advice. Cheers jake
