Hi, Came across these on ebay, Is this what you guys are using? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160641886663#ht_1882wt_919 How can I descover what OBD Interface my car utilises? Thanks.

Can anyone point me to a 'how to' for removing and cleaning the Lambda probes? I would like to do this to eliminate the possibility of carbon build up (dirt), prior to being stung by dealer at service time for a replacement probe/s. Would VAGCOM pinpoint the probe that is causing the warning light to stay on. Thanks.
-
Yes, I must get my own VAGCOM........... Cheers.
-
Hi Bungy, I am getting the 'exhaust warning lamp' I do not have VAGCOM so know nothing more than this. From your question it take it, it could just mean that a lamda probe has gone and not the actual cat, is that right?
-
Having just nudged 80K a dashboard warning light is now informing me of some problem with the cat. I assume as long as it is replaced before the next MOT it is ok, or will it develop other issues if I don't do it immediately. The car is on an X plate does broaden my options?

I thought that site wasn't working........ Yes, quite good. The BOSCH s3 and s4 at 242mm long, will fit inside the cloth battery cover.... but will the 278mm s5 and s6? Has anyone had one of these s3/s4's in their car long enough to confirm they are up to the electronics littering the car? VW must have changed to a larger battery for a reason. Did the earlier VR6's have as many electronic devices as the 4motion? ------ The only thing I have had done to the car since buying it is Laser tracking. When I get the rear suspension bushes done at service time I plan to change to the Primacy's. Once

Splendid, Thanks. I too have a larger than stock 'naked' battery and an immaculate cloth cover laying in the boot. Annoys me as the engine bay looks unfinished! I wanted to know the battery spec so I could fit the original and put the cover back on it. Michelin Pilot Primacy, I will look into that and fit a set of them when I next change tyres. Thanks for your input reido80 Take Care.

Autoglym 'engine and machine' cleaner may be worth a try. It is less intrusive than a jet wash and cleans very well.

Does anyone know exactly what make and model of battery a year 2000 (with the soft battery cover) 4mo was equipped with, also What tyres did the vw engineers develop the car with/for? what tyres the car came with originally? Thanks.

Has anyone here had work done by/ got an opinion on AMD Tuning Ltd? They tune/run/race prep Golfs for the BTCC. http://www.amdessex.com/products.variant.cfm?variantid=70 I will be using the 4mo to learn my way around the Nurburgring in the new year and want a little more than my Local VW dealer can deal with.

removal and replacement of exterior mirror.
851corsa replied to 851corsa's topic in Syncro, R32 and 4motion
Thanks Calico. It seems I was worried for nothing. I went to my local VW dealer this morning and the black plastic base is sold separately @£4.50. -
Hi all, Some bozo clipped my door mirror today, braking the black plastic base. Do I need to replace the whole assembly, or just the base? The cover, glass and motor etc are all fine. I have a feeling it will be the whole thing, so can someone give me step by step instructions on removing and replacement, or post a link, I tried the search facility but nothing.
-
You were right, was sold a new hazard switch. Hope the search results will contain a 'how to change your hazard switch" Bye for now.
-
No, stereo has not been messed with.
-
Whats the link? I ask as today my stereo DID make some intermitent, random buzzing sounds! relay 377. ok, I will let you kmow if you were right on Saturday, after Ive visited the vw dealer.
-
additional info: Is this a full set of the relays: Dual tone horn relay:53 Foglight relay:53 Current supply relay;100 fuel pump relay:409 wash/wipe relay:377 Ignition relay:100 If so then what about the turn signals? does that mean it is not a relay, but a failing stalk?
-
Super quick off the mark mate....... Thanks again Bungy, Is there a guide to the relays in there too, like the guide to the fuses on its lid?
-
Bungy, I have just seen some examples of the original vw kit on ebay Germany, ----- On a different note, after 5000 trouble free miles I have a small issue to deal with, A clicking sound when the turn signals have self cancelled/been turned off. Having used the search facility here, I expect it may be a loose/faulty relay. The relays are under the dash, above the footpedals, is that right? How do I remove the cover and how do I tell which relay to check? Drive safely.
-
Does anyone have an image that shows the original first aid kit, in place, on the car? Thanks.
-
Could you tell me what EKTA and MSP pages is please? Drive Safely, Terry

Hi Bungy, In my experience, OEM, when used on ebay, means nothing! The overmats in my car have no heel guard, they are just soft carpet. I have the 85 page vw golf brochure but it only gives the part numbers of the rubber mats. It details....... carpet mat sets standard- part no. depends on colour. luxury- part no. depends on colour. protective rubber mats, front 1j2 061 501 a 041/ rear 1j0 061 511 041. Thanks Drive safely.
