  1. Hi guys, have just realised that my rear door wont open from the inside. It opens from the outside fine and locks/unlocks without problem. I have tried moving the child lock switch but this makes no difference. Any ideas before i have to strip it down??
  2. Know nothing about relocating the bat. but wouldn't think it would be too difficult. Just need longer wires! lol!!
  3. Don't know where he got it done but i will ask a guy at workwho is a TT nut, he may know about it as he has a twin turbo v6 conv. Apart from that, i guess you could check out the TT forums as i think it is a common mod???? Or contact the TT shop (google it), they would know. will speak to my m8 2mo.
  4. No, Just to fabricate and replace the front jacking area. The sills are good and dont need replacing. Tbh, the whole car is rust free apart from that area!
  5. My vr has had alot of body work done by the previous owner but i have noticed the jacking point are both rotten. my body shop quoted nearly £600!!! think i need to shop around!!
  6. ahhh... Still don't know! I should just buy it and try it and if i don't like it i'm sure someone on here will take it off me!
  7. Thanx Gaz. I've heard some pretty poor reviews so i might give it a miss then!
  8. Hi guys, bought my VR a couple of weeks ago and the guy I got it from has a whole load of spares for it. I'm thinking of having the ss 6 branch off of him as he doesn't want stupid £££ for it but have been told it can reduce the torque with minimal power gains. Just wondering if anyone else has one fitted and what do you think of it? The engine is standard apart from induction kit and scorpion exhaust with decat. Your help please. Will get some decent pics of the car up soon. ;-)
  9. it should matter how long the induction pipe is but you will get more power if you can keep the air cool so i would use some heat wrap if you relocate to the bat. tray. I've seen a similar conversion on an audi TT where he switch the intake to the other side because it gets a better feed, he used a custom made aluminium pipe . i would suggest that if you do relocate it to the bat. tray u use a feeder hose to get some cold air to it as i'm sure it gets pretty hot under there and there's no real air flow to that area. i'm sure someone on here knows a lot more than me about it but thats my thoug
  10. Just sold a '53 scooby STi PPP (300bhp standard) and bought a mk3 vr6. I loved the scooby but you just cant use them where i live! i'm sure if you lived in a rural area the scooby would be more fun but day to day the golf is a far more rounded car.
  11. was thinking bout getting a cheap set of 15s for the ring. thanks for your help guys.
  12. Thanks, glad it will pass the MOT! also, i was thinking of doing the Nurburgring trip next year (work permiting!) but have read that streched tyres are banned in Germany. Anyone else heard or have any knowledge on this??
  13. Hi, guys. After 7 years of not owning a VW, i finally bought my new p&j last week! ('97 Golf) I have never been that into the modifying thing, so my knowledge if pretty limited! the car is running 17x8 wheels with a 195/40 tyre. I am currently running the tyres at 33psi but after doing a bit of research i found that most people who run streched tyres use a higher pressure. Does anybody know what pressure i should be using? also, will my car pass an MOT with these on? Thanks guys.
