    I have a mondao just now an thats really obvious when it goes on an the exhauast is burst at the manifold, but that thing s a pile o crap right enough

    Well i thought as long as the injectors were working the fuel would be pulled through due to displacement. However after the arguement i sat an thought about it and started doubting my theory. The thing is I never heard the pump run either

    I was having a heated debate with a guy at work an wondered if someone could settle it for me? I said I thought my fuel punp never worked on my car before it went off the road, to which he replied don't be so ****ing stupid a car won't run without your fuel pump. I explained the longer i left it before starting the more turns it took to start, thinking the extra turns would be drawing the fuel to the engine. Anyway you get the idea, it went on for a while an got a bit heated. Have i just made an ass of myself? Or will a car run without a functioning fuel pump?

    I'll try that cheers. Also thought about my MAF sensor being faulty too, any thoughts on that?

    I know 2 people who have it an there always too busy to come an do it even with a cash incentive. Thought it would be a handy thing to have too. Thanks for haelp i'll post any progress made

    I was searching e-bay for VAGcom my vr6 is OBD1 cos it's a k plate, so should it specify that on the descrption or will OBD11 VAGcom work just the same?

    I wish i read this before i put mine in storage cos it just wont start now. Had to get new tyres, the milldew has just cleared an it took some persuasion to unseize the brakes (I did have the sense to leave the handbrake off though)

    Firstly hi all, i'm new to this site. I dont really have any experience with cars and i'm learning on my vr6 which needs pretty much everything replaced lol. My problem at the moment is that i cant get it started. It went off the road about a year ago, after failing an MOT. it occaisionally got started but the last time was about 6months ago before the battery died. I've replaced the fuel tank, battery, plugs and leads and still wont fire up. I have to bypass the ECU for my fuel pump to work and fuel is getting to the fuel rail. i have a healthy spark and the starter motor is working fine. as
