  1. Is this a weak point? It looks like it has been replaced but it is a cheap part not oem
  2. Hi guys, Rite roughly 6 months ago drove my vr bout 5 miles to local shops as I was walking away noticed my car was leaking water, so after I got home over the next few weeks ripped the engine apart flushed it new water pump all new coolant plastics up rated silicone hoses, new head gasket and fresh coolant. The car did bout 50 miles then sat for three months after starting it up opened the coolant bottle and the water was thick with oil!!! Not frothy just thick oil. So I ripped engine apart expecting to see the head knackered as it was quite pitted and not in great shape but the gasket and h
  3. every american company i have spoke to about a turbo kit for a rhd car have just said that its the downpipe that needs modification. trouble is do you trust them and hope it is only a small amount of frabrication? cos it could turn out to be alot of work. i have been looking for a turbo 'kit' for my vr6 from the uk for a 3000 budget and it is hard, most uk companies do not even reply.
  4. can anyone tell me where the main lead from the alternator connects onto, as i hav just put my car back together after a month being sat there and i cant remember where it should connect to, the only terminal i thought it mite go to is on the starter motor, the same termainal as the main power from battery.
  5. could be the thermostat not opening properly, slowin the flow of water or water pump, i had same problem bout 2 weeks ago on my vr rado, took the old water pump out and it had 1 and a half of the eight impeller fins left lol water pumps easy to change on these, there is a thread sum where on here bout how to do it worst case it head gasket, but they aint too bad to change on these engines
  6. i had the same sort of problem with my obd1 rado. no hesitation but wud stall after taking my foot off the throttle. with mine it was the idle control valve, i just removed and cleaned it. not sure if will sort yur problem but its worth a try, there is a thread on here bout how to do it but only for premium members, http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?151343 basically it is positioned next to the throttle body, a silver cylinder with vac pipes connected to it, you need to take out and clean inside cylinder, be careful not to bend any of the internals tho.
  7. cheers guys, tried them but no luck, but always handy to hav em on the favourites list
  8. that link is old jimmy march 09 but ta anyways
  9. ahhhhh i see, well if it comes to it then yer i think that is an option just depends how long i can hold this search on for as i hav the doller to start tinkerin, so its killing me not having an engine
  10. cos i got a 2.9 corrado, and basically i am buying a second engine to tune up while on a stand and then just chuck it in the car when it is completed so it dont ahv to be off the raod for any time. so wud prefer to keep 2.9 but if i get extremly desperate i will hav to look at converting to 2.8 as they are easier to get hold of
  11. alreeet gang, basically i am in desperate need of a 2.9 vr6 engine but they are bout as rare as a pork pie at a jews wedding anyone know of any vw breakers yards or dismantlers that i can hit up to try and find my pork pie tried a few but there are always others hiding away round the country, any areas in the country as like i say i am desperate cheers
  12. its just not fair these things never happen to me lol how long till she up for sale im interested
  13. haha yer it is the same car. cheers guys im def gona look into this, gona concentrate on get the engine fully tuned first i think, then crack into it. awesome thread btw paul
