    conversion help

Dont forget to drill the rear legs on the subfraim thay are slightley longer on the VR6 and wont match your floor pan! Its much easyer to do off the car trust me i know!!
  2. Hi i have an OBD1 motor in my corrado, The wiring is deffentley diffrent the coil pack motors use a sender for the cam possition so to wire that in would be a total nighmaire! Ther are loads of AAA OBD1 motors on the bay at the momet with everything you need and you would get a spare gearbox! The coil pack motors are very good the OBD2 motors i would say are a bit smoother mine can miss a little. The only problems i'v had is with the MAF meater. Not a chaep fix OBD1 are 200+ from euro parts and discontunued for vw! i think i got one of the last ones out ther form them! Also the pack its self c
  3. I live in Eccleshall G9CRA corrado Needs a paint job!! BRRRRRAP!!:-d
  4. Finished my vr6 convertion took it to get tracked and the tie bars on the rack are to long!? And so is still a mile out. I Know ther are two diffrent racks, the engine came out of a golf and is an ob1 and had 288mm hubs. I'v put 280 hubs on it so dont know if thats been the problem just need to know what the code is on the shorter racks as the vin number on the car is a 16v.
  5. The 2 pin plug is for the indicator left/right the outers I think are for air con and abs? So don’t worry about them, IV done the same with my valver, the clocks have been a total nightmare!! View my post!

    Vr6 conversion

Right well, sorted the temp gauge out by putting a relay on it from an engine running live. Unfortunately the fuel gauge is still buggered! Guess I’ll just have to put a gallon in the boot!!

    Vr6 conversion

Well slight update i'v sorted the temp gague, it had come off the pin inside so i'v wired it to the yellow and red on G2/3 only problem is when the ign is on it sky rockets up unless you start the engine?? also now when i connect the fuel gague it drops them both down to a false reading!!

    Vr6 conversion

Just about done my raddo 1990 vr6 conversion only snag is the temp gauge isn’t working!! It maddening! I’ve done the d2 to e8 link and put a live to the fuel gauge to get that to work but no temp!!! it's not circulating the water to the heater matrix very well either Must be the thermostat so iv got to take it apart any way so new bloody sender as well but I don’t think that’s why I’m not getting temp reading as its not even moving when I connect a live to the yellow and red wire on the dash loom!! It’s driving me mad!! I want to put the fuse box away i'm sick of looking at it arrg
