VR6 Mulberry Highline for sale - needs dashboard wiring loom
Repurr replied to Repurr's topic in Cars For Sale
Hi, My car has been sold. -
Hi, Looking to sell "as is" my VR6 which I've owned since 98. Reason for sale is that Halfords burnt out some of the dashboard wiring when they tried to fit a new radio and as part of their settlement offer, I keep the car. The car is in SW London and currently not drivable as the dashboard was removed by a VW main dealer to diagnose the damage. It passed it's MOT (to Aug 2018) the shortly before the dash was removed and I was driving it up-to the dashboard removal Attached is a summary of the life of my VR6 and a couple of photos. Welcome offe

I'm SW London. What do you have? -
Mk3 Golf VR6 Hello, Halfords recently fitted a new radio, managed to burn out the live feed to the radio and melt/burn a large of wires behind the dashboard. I've had a Main VW dealer inspect it, who advise it is uneconomical to repair due to the extensive damage and that as VW no longer make spares for the VR6, the repair would be a very long process to check the damage to the bits and bobs attached to the ,melted wires. Now waiting for Halfords to come back to me with their proposals. A couple of questions: Anyone had a similar experience and

Hi, R Plate VR6 Highline I replaced my radio/cd player with another Sony model and for a while have v poor radio reception on the stations I can get, which is very few. The only I have done with the aerial is stick the broken rubber bee sting washer (between aerial and roof) with some black mastic. Appreciate tips and comments to get the radio properly tuned. Thanks R

SW London Garage needed for some work on my VR6
Repurr replied to Repurr's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Thanks for your reply. MOT last year Sept advised that Sub Frame and Wishbones were corroded. VW garage could not advise on lifespan, so keen to get them looked at/and replaced if necessary. Not a expert on matters under the car, so here come the stupid questions: Can you replace front wishbones with R32 rear ones, or have I missed the point, and what is polybusing them (told you they were stupid!) Rear drivers side window down and won't go up
Repurr posted a topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
97/98 MK3 Vr6 Highline Hi, When washing my car, I noticed the rear driver’s side window was just open. I tired to close it, the motor worked when I pressed the button but nothing happened. When I pressed it to go down it went down and will now not go up, the motor is working both going down and up. Any ideas as to the cause of this? and How do you remove the inner door panel to investigate the inner workings of the door as from an initial look, I can’t figure how to do it? Thank you -
Thanks for all the comments and posts to this thread. I went with the Halfords 6mm sticky pads and my number plate is well stuck. Thank you all

I am looking to do that, wanted to find an easyish way to remove the bolts?
-
Hi, One of the rear number plate bolts (which secure the number plate holder to the car) has corroded so much that the number plate holder is loose. Have read another posting about the challenges of removing the bolts, grinding, touching up etc. Does anyone have any other ideas to try first before using the grinding method? Thanks
