  1. FIXXED IT while haveing a new alarm we were in the drivers foot well and bumped that total closure module and the windows moved. when removed it was found to be full of water. now the windows are all good. wahooooooo
  2. thanks but as said, this car is a restoration project so has to work as factory so still looking for the answer to the missing power to the switched live, thannks
  3. i need help with the switched live on my mk3 98 vr6. i realy want to fix this but cant find a fuse for the switched live. this is a restoration so want the switched live to work thanks
  4. just a silly question, you got the gaskets on correct way around. its some times possible to get them the wrong way around on some engines. this means that a oil gallery is open to the water etc. have you done a compression test. just a thought. i know ive not done a gasket on a Golf but its been know on other engines
  5. got one of those on my other project which is my vw transporter t4. as you say who needs expensive and unreliable CLIFARDS. A one alarm
  6. Hi, i had a smell too and it wasnt a naturel ale gas. hehehe. i found that the top hose going into the bulkhead had a small hole in it. when my engins cooling system got up to preasure the water was escapeing and what i could smell was cooked antifreeze. may be the same for you. who knows
  7. There is always a solution, i am looking into it. i need to know if there is a central control unit under the dash of the car that controls total closure. also i am considering getting a new alarm to see if this cures the problem. I think my current problem was caused by rain while i had the bonnet open fitting new coil overs. any one else had this anoying problem?
  8. could my scorpion factory alarm cause my windows to open on there own.. I checked so much, the wireing is perfect and the windows all work while driveing. when i lock the doors etc with the windows up the car first starts to open the off side window in steps, then it opens the near side window. i know i have another thread running on the window thing but i thought ide ask this seperatly. is it the alarm that soly controls total closure? have any of you had this with the factory alarm on a mk3 98 golf VR6 THANKS AGAIN
  9. yep and a little double sided tape. it took me about 30 mins in and out all done and you can switch the background colour from green to blue
  10. o k, i checked out the loom to the drivers door, inside and out and its as good as new, so im thinking this. its got the factory scorpion alarm, while i was fitting the coil overs i had the bonnet open in a rain storm, could it be the alarm?
  11. HEHE the perfect VR6 would sport al wheel drive and enough power to spin the earth the wrong way when you droped the hammer, a little like my 2 old pulsar gtirs heheehe
  12. AS PROMISED, HEAR ooops shouting sorry, hear is the item number for the indiglo dials (290358093962) there ok to fit as long as you are good at takeing the dials out. you do not need to remove the original faces or needles and i soldered the power directly onto the rail taht controls the iluminations for the front of the dials. the RPM IS A LITTLE OUT, AND THEY ARE THE 160 MPH DIALS. ENJOY
  13. ile get the link in the morning, off to bed to dream about a perfect VR6 LOL
  14. i fitted some new white dials from ebay, they are indiglow so the entire dial lights up blue, green and red. they look F A T. i also fit LED blue bulbs in the binical front. yes sir and for only a little time and £40 quids
  15. thanks man. ile have a look on the morrow, its deff getting worse. its totaly strange though as its been fine, i did put the entire hi line leather in there the other day. So i might have desterbed the loom when i changed the door card. Was it you that fixed your car and what wires did you have to fix, im guessing there is a switched live and a earth + perminent live? thanks again
