  1. thanks for the help guys. Just went and had a look and the abs/airbag light and it did not light when the ignition was switched on. I took the unit out of the dash but then realised it was a sealed unit. I know it is possible to get into the bulbs but i dont want to brake the unit so could anyone tell me how to get to the bulbs?-i tryed pushing some clips but it didnt work
  2. hi folks. Put my vr obd2 in for a service recently and was given a list of advisorys:- -offside brake hose starting to buldge -rear brakes 90% worn -near side rear brake disc badly pitted on inner edge -front brake discs worn and corroded -front brake pipes starting to corrode -near side front abs sensor missing -abs light not iluminating Apart from the brakes the garage also said that the -offside ball joint is worn -rear disc back plates are missing For all the work here iv beeen quoted £750. It would be great if someone could tell me if this is expensive? And also,is the abs sensor a main
  3. jesus, thats unbelievebal. That must be one of vws bad ones. Iv had a few unlucky cars which have gone badly wrong but never since i went cold and stuck with vw, iv had zero trouble(for now haha)
  4. well its a few weeks later now and no dramatic fires yet-and hopefully there wont be haha. But it has done it twice in the month of owning the car but it always seems to be when its hot (well hotter than normal as i live in scotland) when the smoke appears. I just put it in for a major service and the guy gave me a deccently sized list of work it needs(mostly brakes)-apparently the abs light is not illuminateing-so i presume the guy has removed the light to cover up for a abs sensor being removed(another problem highlighted). Could this be anything to do with the smoke??
  5. well fingers crossed theres nothing wrong
  6. Hi folks. Bought a vr resently. Very occasionally there is a small amount of smoke rises from behind the steering wheel. It only happens when it is a hot day, meaning it is hot in the cabin, and when i start the car. I think it could possibly be just a build up of cr*p and grease but i dont know. Everything still works perfectly so i dont think it can be fuses. Any ideas 'cuz this is a puzzeler????
  7. hahaha-just bought the silver vr6 at the top of the page-still going strong.
