Check your injectors are getting power-I'm having exactly the same problem, and I cant vag-com it so if you find out what the problem is, it would be good if you could tell me as well haha

Em to mod the mk2 one, presuming its a mk3 donor car, you have to swap the clutch pedal from the vr onto the mk2 pedal box (bit fiddly but easy enough). Then you have to extend the runner for the spring, and also get a longer spring (B&Q). Hope iv explained it ok-its easy to see when you do it. The hardest part is getting the pedal to come back down, hence needing the bigger spring

Cutting the hole in the bulkhead is easy, just put in the pedal box, mark it, and drill away. The actual cylinder is quite flexible on the piston rod so it allow for some amount of error. You would need a raddo pedal box I believe to make it easier, but I just did a bit of modification to the mk2 pedal box and it works fine.

Sorry mate, just cut back everything from the fans to fit the mk2 as i cant afford/find corrado setup

Thought it may be the fuel not getting enough pressure though OEM?
-
Meant to say, the injectors are getting power (pulsing). Yes, the engine was in a running, '97 donor car
-
Yeah, the cylinders are defonatly not getting fuel, although the fuel rail is. Em yeah, the connections are look fine, and its getting a spark so i think that means its ok? Might try putting on a vr fuel pump from my donor car tonight, see if that makes a difference

Done a bit more digging last night, think its the injectors not getting power some how. They are working manually and when we put a little petrol into a cylinder, it started coughing. Dunno why thet arent working but will have another look tonight.

Right, got it turning over (bad earth) but now it isnt starting. There is spark, sh*t loads of fuel, and loads of power in the battery. Thought it was maybe needing back pressure from the downpipe so we bolted that up but still no joy. Its me and my mate building it and we are only 16 so any help is much appreciated

Thanks guys-the funny thing is neither of us will be able to drive it once its finished haha. We are both learning on it aswell. Took the plugs out and the arent wet at all, and also every one of them is giving a good spark. Any ideas folks?

Lambda and maf both plugged in and working. The timing is perfect as it was running before we took it out. I think it may be flooded but we did try starting it with the throttle fully open. I think we will take the plugs out again and let the cylinders get some air

Hi guys. Its wiring so i'll try keep it short and sweet. Got the vr bolted into the car yesterday and started the wiring. Tried to turn it over to day and nothing, but the solinoid is getting power because we can hear it clicking away. We took the starter off and tested it with the battery and it works fine. Im a bit concerned as we cut some of the wiring away, which we thought wasnt needed, but we think my be now. Any help guys? Thanks

Ok Doke, i will need to look out for a 'rado radiator then. Im kinda gutted because the rad is near perfect due to the fact the aircon element took most of the abuse but awell, needsmust. Thanks for the advice

Hi guys, im in the middle of doing a VR conversion. Being quite tight with money, I desided id buy a doner car (Mk3 R reg with eibach coillies for £500!) and have only now came across this problem. Me and my mate started taking apart the Mk3 and discovered that the rad fan assembly is built in to the slam pannel setup. I presumed that, like my Mk2, the fans would just separate from the rad but obviously not. Now i know that you can get a fan setup that is not attached, but i cant seem to find them anywhere (ebay haha). To be honest im quite p*ssed off as the rad is perfect. Any advise would b

You could get an s4 2.7 bi turbo for £5000-£7000. 260 horses through all the wheels stock i think, and a hell of a lot more if you put some money towards it. Thats around the same price as a civic but yet you can still be part of the vag scene. In my opinion civics seem a bit boring and there are heaps of them, people from chavs to granmas have them. Theres nothing like a V6, especially if it's a VR6

Hi guys and gals. I will be doing a vr6 conversion spring time next year(dont have a garage:-|) so im begining to prepare myself. I will be buying a full doner car and when reserching, a reoccuring question keeps being asked-whats the best car for a doner? Iv heard that a mk3 vr's rad is too tall and requires a lot of fabricating (and alot of swearing i imagine) to fit. If you use a 'raddo or something similar, then you need to buy a mk3 subframe etc i think??? I want to make this as simple as possible, hence the reason im buying a doner. By the way,it's a '89 gti 8v mk2 that will be receiving

oh ok thanks rikki il take it to my local garage soon as. I think its maybe needing a new front sensor but il maybe get new ones all round. Thanks again

Thanks guys. Sorry i meant to say, i just fitted new discs, pads and lines all rouns, so i know its not the fluid. Em well the light is red, just like a normal handbrake light(because it is haha). Em if its the abs, wouldnt the abs light show rather than the light iv got?-by the way, the abs light had been removed by the previous owner so no doubt when i get round to getting a new light, it will glow on the dash aswell:-|
-
Hi guys and gals. Needing a bit of help, ever since i bought the car the handbrake/brake fluid level indicator has been on the dash constantly. To begin with it went on and off but now it stays on. Iv been to the local scrppy and picked up a handbrake switch and a fluid reservoir float but they seemed in worce condition than the other ones. Tried them anyway and surprise, surprise it didnt work. any guesses on what this could be?-maybe i should go but new parts from vw? Any help much appreciated, Thanks
-
Just dont brake haha. 10k miles!-thats not even an average years driving haha. Yeah i got that on the brembo rear discs aswell-gsf are really cheap.
-
hi folks. Got somre new brakes today. I ordered them from gsf in glasgow. When i phoned and ordered them the guy said he didnt have any brembo, drilled and vented, discs left so he suggested i buy zimmermann instead, which i agreed to. Just wondered if anyone has opinions if zimmermann are better or worse than brembo? They are only on the front with green stuff EBCs. On the back im about to fit brembo discs (not drilled) with pagid pads. Could anyone give opinions on whether or not its wrong to run different part on back and front, and if i will have problems? Thanks alot

Sorry folks, i meant to say, got one for £15 I, cheekily, asked a person who had a vr with angel eyes if he had the originals haha

hi folks. anyone know where i can get a nearside headlight ? or has anyone selling one/set? A big ass stone hit mines and it has a crack and a hole. I dont really want to pay main dealer prices because id imagine its too expensive. Thanks
