So is it the build up of leaves that causes the leak? The passenger side of the car seems dry while the drivers side is soaking. I will have a good look at all the places mentioned above. Cheers

Problems with VF9 Kit. Help needed from others with kit

yep I dont have a filter. The breather pipe is attached to the intake tube just after the maf. The current thought being the dumped compressed air is being fed into the intake between the charger and the the breather feed. When the air is dumped into the intake, what ever doesnt get sucked up by the charger is being blown down the intake and out the main filter taking oil vapours from the breather with it. Regarding the kit, its not a new kit. Bought it of a member here and also used his chip. -

Guys, the drivers footwell is water logged in my car. Are there any common sources of water ingress in mk3s? The car does have a sun roof but the headlining is dry so dont think its from there. Amit

I have had a stage 2 VF9 kit fitted to my vr. Since fitting the kit, there are strong burning oil fumes in the car. I have had a good look round the bay and cant see any signs of an oil leak. One person I spoke to said its probably coming from the oil breather. The breather looks fine and the pipe feeds into the intake before the charger. Has anyone else had this? One thing the guy also mentioned is it could be the recirculated air from the charger blowing the oil vapour back down the intake and through the filter when the throttle is shut. As awesome as that shifter sounds.. I didnt want to spend that sort of money.. Was hoping there was a nice cheap bushing refresh kit. Also dont know if the wife would be comfortable with a shorter shift. Amit

I have just had my car super charged and it freaking flys! No I need to tighten up the gear change as its just too sloppy. Its a little notchy going into a couple of the gears and the lever is just a bit loose. Is there a bushing refresh kit available like on mk1s? Or is there a nice upgraded shift kit worth getting? Like I said. I am not to worried about the soldering part.. I have been soldering since I was a kid. I recently chipped a cut pins nintendo wii whic involved soldering wire on the the stubs of to legs that had been cut of buy nintendo. The two pins were in a space 2mm wide! So soldering is not an issue. I just need to know the method. I can't see how a socket can be soldered in because the original chip is surface mounted. This means there are no holes for the legs on the socket to drop into. A surface mount holder would be bigger than the original chip so the solder pads would be in differen

Oh and my chip isn't a Giac chip that came with te charger so don't think it will need the encryption board. I thought the encryption board was part of the ecu

How much did it cost at stealth

I have just fitted a vf charger to my car so need to install a chip. I got the chip with the kit. It's a plcc 44pin square chip. The instructions show an encryption board in the ecu whic the chip just plugs into. My ecu doesn't have that and has the 44pin chip soldered to the board. I can probably un solder the old one but don't really want to solder the new chip to the board permenetly. Is there a way to solder a socket to the board? I did buy a socket but it a through hole socket and because the old chip was smt, there are no holes to drop the socket into unlike the older ecus with the dip

Took my car to Johnno for a service and a once over. Got to say I was very impressed with his service.He really knows his VRs. He gave me an honest appraisal of everything that needs doing in priority order without the hard sell that you get from normal garages. Will be defo going back to him to get the VR in top shape. Amit

They are for tyc lights and not hella. The seller is not sure if they will work with Hellas. Amit
