  1. hmmm,perhaps a combination of both,some cunningly placed wedges and a crafty beer.go away rain,grrrr.
  2. never thought of duck tape.is there no end to its usefullness?lol,ill give that a go as soon as it stops raining.
  3. i thought that but they need quite a bit of upwards pressure to get them in the original position so the marks where they sat originally cant be seen.wondered if theres any sort of clamps out there or special ways of wedging them up?

Thought i would have a look at my arches with the idea of,if they were in good condition i would leave them off and get some cl side trims.Unfortunately theres a bit to much grot on the rears so ive got rid of the rust and tried to put the arches back on with screws where the rivets were and strong double sided tape.The problem ive got is where the top part of the arches touched the body work they have rubbed a deep line down to the primer coat and when the arches are fixed in place they sit lower than originally and the line shows,i can push the arches up but they wont stay there.Im getting s

  7. ive only got good things to say about vince aswell,same scenario with my passat 1.8t,eml on,told me to turn up the next day,plugged vag com in took him out whilst he checked the logs.got back had a good look under the bonnet.now at this point id changed all the vac hoses that are notorious for splitting it had been to about 3 other vag"specialists"who just cleared the faults.vince stuck his hand under my manifold and found the blown manifold gasket,and only then begrudgingly accepted a `drink`.top bloke

Just got some 16" tt wheels,7"wide for mk3.Its lowered about 40mm,now i need to get some tyres,was thinking 195/45s to keep a bit of comfort but are they to narrow for 7s?maybe 205/45s would be better,but will they fit?any ideas/remarks welcome,need to get them on and get the nasty chavvy tsws that came on it binned.
