Has your carbon canister been removed? if so it could be the pipe that comes from the tank, just letting out the fumes

HELP, acceleration hesitation problem
S.i.m.o.n replied to petrolhead's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Try the blue temp sensor -
Hi, I have a 93 VR6 for the past month it has been dieing. Your be driveing all will be fine then all of a sudden it will slowly lose power and die, if you leave it for 5 mins it will start again but as soon as you get to a constant speed it will slowly lose all power, have tried to hook it up to diagnostics but my ecu will not talk, i have changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pump relay, cam sensor, crank sensor and im going to put another ecu in it at the weekend. If this does noy work i am at a complete loss as to what it could be so any help will be really apreciated Thanks Simon

Is there anyone local to Reading or Henley on Thames that has vag com and could put my car on it Its a 93 VR6, I might have a problem with the ecu but need vag com to identify this as its still having fuel problems Thanks Simon

When we had the pump out to change we checked the tank for crap but it was all nice and clean no crap at all. we are changing the fuel filter tomoz. Could it be something to do with the crank senser?
-
It is possible yes, We changed the fuel pump and all was fine until a day later. we really cant pin point the problem as when the car just sits there running nothing goes wrong. Just really need some advice as to what could be causing this Simon

Right after my recent fuel pump problem i now have another. My 93 VR6 runs fine most of the time until you get at a constant speed the car loses all power and wont accelerate and some times dies completly. when its happened i have let the revs drop to tick over left for about 10 seconds and then its fine again for a few miles, then it does it again and if it cuts out it takes about 5 mins to re start. We are really stuck on what this could be and need some help urgent. Thanks Simon

Ok cheers rigs. IP; Yes i have already changed the pump it seems as though there is a vacum in the tank stopping the fuel from comming out as the pump runs but no fuel comes out. if you remove the piece that sits on top of the tank the pump starts to pump fuel again.

Just had a look for the second fuel pump and i cant find it
-
No i didnt know there are 2 pumps just thought there was the one in the tank, Where exactly is the second pump?

Hi Had a problem the other night that the fuel pump was not working properly it was blowing air and fuel out, (i had loads of fuel in the tank) I bought a new pump yesturday and installed it, all fine ran fine until this morning driving to work it died again, got it back to mine no fuel was comming out of the tank put the pump was working fine, removed the top of the pump cover to have a look turned the key and loads of fuel came out its a though there is a vacum problem in the tank. Can some one point me in the right direction to try and get this fixed. The car is a K plate VR6 Cheers Simon
