  1. Well because i was putting a big turbo in my Audi i needed a VR6 MAF as its 3" instead of the 1.8t's 2.5" so went a bit extreme and bought this MOT failure with just this picture and very limited details: So looking at that pic it looked sorry for itself so didnt have a second thought until i got it home and flicked through the full service history, up until 3k ago, and went up the 'private' road to remind myself I owned one 2yrs ago) of the VR6 grin factor and it drove nice. So i had the bit of welding done (normal Mk3 place) and booked it in for test. Flew through with a couple of advisorie

  4. Right this week i thought id tinker some more with the Golf. It had new CVs and trackrod ends over the weekend and today a new treat arrived: A full exhaust, brand new, on the bay for £56!!!!!!! Bargain. Turns out it was a decat too. Result. Only thing was its for a 16v GTi not a VR6, so i bought it with the thought of Astra exhausts, they all go on as the floors the same, just down pipe mating could be different. Anyway got the back box on: And i wasnt wrong. The GTi down pipe must sit more to the passenger side than the VR6 so some modding was needed: And all on: The tailpipe is about

  13. Right well been slacking of late so heres a small update for you all. Firstly the coilovers came off the golf after a week as theyre fooked! Refund has been requested so awaiting to send them back. I lopped 4 inches of the gear stick as it was far too high. A nice difference, and more comfortable to use now. Been eBay shopping to and this is where todays update starts. Before i bought the Golf the backbox fell off so this needed replacing: So i bought this from a guy locally, as well as these polybushes for the rear beam from another retailer: So got the car on a mates ramp (yes mine still i
  14. Sorry to bump an old thread but im after cruise control in my VR6 so instead of starting a new thread i thought id search and came up with this. Anyone have any info about fitting CC on a Mk3 VR6?
  15. My coilovers will be off mine saturday for inspection!
  16. I have a similar issue. Nothing appears loose or damaged, but mine doesnt increase with more bumps, its evident on normal roads. I cant feel it through the steering or brakes etc, just hear it and feel it on the floor. Checked the exhaust hangers and its all fine and doesnt touch.... We had the prybar out to see if anything moved while on the ramp and nothing. Only thing that seems odd is when the car is on the ground, the top mounts are about 10mm from the car so you can jack it up and the top mount drops and rests on the car. Ive packed this out and doenst appear to make a difference. Any id

All done and clean wheels: Much better and very little rubbing now. Anyway the Dubbers turned up: And got Valeting : I made a rush job on the badge. Needs doing again, too much dust: And all done. Just need to clean the seats this week: Next job is to fit the HID's and the stereo.....
