    ok so last weekend didn't happen as i ended up taking my vr upto newcastle for a 24 hr stint to see my dad and also fix his boiler (don't ask) LOL so got up at 5am this morning and started stripping out the center bits off the dash (5am coz i'm up at that time every day of the week to travel to work) after stripping out the center and glove box bits and cutting my hand to bits on various pieces of plastic etc i came to the conclusion that my large hands and arms were deffinalty not gonna get access to the matrix so i removed the dash and done it the old fashoned way all done and back togethe

    hahahaha thnx guys i have a cunning plan for this it's called call in the favour from a good friend of mine LMAO gonna have a go at this the weekend so i'll keep u posted anyone wanna come round and stand a laugh at me feel free FREE TEA AND COFFEE MIGHT EVEN STOKE THE BBQ UP IF THE WEATHERS OK :-p :-p :-p

    ok like it says above mines buggered and leaking i've bypased it for now but don't want to leave it like it as i am one of these pple that want everthihng to work as i should so my question is anyone done one on a mk3 and any tips b4 i got ripping it apart 8o| also am i right in saying i dont need to remove the dash just the centre console,glove box etc and work my way in from there *-) *-) *-)

    all sorted got home tonight and shot down to vw dealership and got me a new thermostat (brown plug ) and fitted it all mended the brown plugged stat is for the 3 stage fan selection hese if it's knackered it just sends the message run at full bore LOL ice is in as welll sounds awsome so all in all a good night :-p :-p :-p thnx guys for the help

    the brown multi plug (temp sensor ) is that anything to do with the fan then ???? also where is the dash temp sensor as i'm not so sure that that is wrong as well as it never goes over the 1/2 way mark ever *-) *-) *-)

    thanx m8 the fan only runs with the ignition on so the fuse isn't a problem but it shouldn't be running all the time so i disconnecftedthe rad switch and it made no difference the fan was still running but if i disconnect the brown multi plug from the stat housing down by the fan on the engine the fan stops ??????? is it this stat that needs replacing or you still recon it's the control box have taken that off tonight and had a good look round can't see any water in it but heh who knows

    like it says the fan on mine won't turn off have replaced the expansion bottle and the cap tonight as found it was lettig by as the cap was knackered is the box under the bottle related to the fan and am i right in saying that the brone plug on the front of the engine is for the fan switch ????? should i try replacing the fan switch 1st or look at the box under the expansion bottle ????? HOPING YOU GUYS CAN HELP REGARDS PAUL
