VW Part numbers required not VR6 but a challenge for all you out there
bigjak replied to bigjak's topic in General Chat
Super smashing great. Bet the bits aren't available any more.. Please help me, am I reading this picture right? There is only one bracket at the forward left and one at the back right? If that is the case, I just need the two retainers as I have the other fixings and thought I was missing some... -

I couldn't find a number embossed on the cover. The engine was supposed to have come out os a Polo but I hve found a sticker that says SEAT?? I might have to try there. -
Get the cops involved, there should be some trace of your paint on his car. We even had the cops take paint sample from our car after it took out a neighbours gate post and we had admitted to it???

Hi all just a query, I know that the lower glove box was added for cars with passenger airbags, was it an option to have two gloveboxes? I am thinking od adding the lower box to a non-airbag car because anything you put on that little shelf typically falls out, roll around or rattles. If there is a door on it all of the above a fixed. Cheers..

I have the cover but need the part numbers for the brackets that hold it on??? Can anyone help a VDub cousin of the VR? Thanks..

Rear Stub Axle Torque Setting
bigjak replied to bigjak's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Found it on DubScene 60Nm -
I had a wheel bearing go and instead of taking it all apart and fixing it in an hour or so I went to the pub. Car was used thst day and the next (not me driving, day after night before kinda thing) and the bearing noise got worse. After all this when I took the wheel off, the grease cap fell off with a load of BLACK needle rollers fell out, the washer had welded itself to the nut anf the nut and stub axle were stripped totally. I took it all off and the stub axle bolts were surprisingly easy to remove, does anybody know what they should be torqued to when I replace it all? Thanks..

Will a MK4 airbag fit in a Cab 3.5 wheel?

I bought a head unit and CD changer from a member via EBay and he has assured me it was working when it was removed. I took it to an ICE fitter and when it was connected up it didn't work??? I saw another head unit on EBay and it mentions that it is only to replace a similar unit because there shoule be a security box fitted somewhere around the fuse box. Has anybody heard of this, have one or know where I can get one?? Here is the EBay link detailing the security box requirement. Thanks in advance. I am going to change my very squishy rubber wheel for a worn but firm leather wheel. Is there anyway to try and avoid this bolt shearing problem? Is it typical? Should I proceed with maximum caution?

Where do the factory fitted CD changer and photo cables go??
bigjak replied to MarkP's topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
Did you ever find the other end of the cables? My '97 has an aftermarket JVC disk player installed but when changing the door cards I have found all the speakers are Sony branded not VW, so I have bought a Sony origianl head unit and changer to retro fit. I hope the CD and phono leads are already there and I hope it doesn't start beeping though.....
