  1. Hi all... Unfortunately i sold my vr6 to help buy a house, miss it loads!!!!! But i never had the vibration cured.. New plugs, leads, had timing checked, belts, mounting all electrics and so on by vw and specialists but no cure.. The v dubs specialist did say it could be a worn crankshaft bearing which was £££'s to get checked/replaced so i left it, i couldn't fault the car otherwise.. good luck...
  2. Thanks all, there is a GSF 2 miles from me so hopefully arcing stops tomorrow!!
  3. umm bonnet stay?? i shall have a search
  4. Thanks for that ben, i thought id need something, glad i didn't just rip them out!! and also very glad to have joined the owner club..
  5. cheers carl, popped in to a vw specialist and you were spot on..
  6. I have bought new leads to hopefully solve an arcing problem, looking over the engine the leads look pretty far down.. If i just pull the old leads out am i going to struggle to fit the replacements? They are standard vw replacement leads.. Is there a tool or technic to be used or do i just go for it? i dont want to damage anything by making a stupid mistake, cheers James
  7. Sorry for PM everybody when i first joined & thanks to all who replied. At the moment i have a vibration when the car revs hits 1400rpm - 1700rpm. Alot of people have suggested its arcing.. I have replaced the plugs as a start, Any recommendations for leads??? i have seen some split-fire ones going for £100 and they sound great but im unsure.. Also when i switch off the car the coil pack buzzes for a good 5mins before it stops. is this a sign of a broken coil pack or does it do this as std? Mountings seem ok, car is a little jerky on / off the throttle but i cant really move the engine ar
  8. Ive recently bought a late r reg vr6 with 50k and mine has just started this now since the weather has turned a lot colder, just like you say on first start up or when its been standing a few hours atleast, Glad to hear its nothing to worry about...
  9. It feels like its at the front but i might be fooled, Thanks to MANZI for posting in the forum as i PM messaged everyone!! Great feed back over 40 people replied. Im replacing the plugs and leads this weekend unless i need to order leads, i reckon this will solve the problem, unless the coil pack is damaged which lots of people mentioned, also going to check the mountings and exhaust. i have noticed it backpopels quite a bit when i let off the revs. Hopefully its not the flywheel, the vibration doesn't change or get worse on releasing the clutch so don't think it is...
