The cable I bought is a USB, it has the marks OBDII on it, it has pins 2, 4, 5, 7, 15, 16, and came with a small CD, made by Mediasave in south Yorkshire. Any help would be appreciated

  8. I did mine on the weekend, its about a 2 hour job, first unplug the leads from the coil pack, make sure you mark them on what lead went where, remove the plastic housing above the coil pack, to remove the coil pack you need I think 6ml allen key. unplug all the wires from the 3 sensors, the blue yellow and other one if you have it, on the side of the thermostat there is one allen key bolt holding the housing to the engine and 2 other long bolts"you will need a long allen key to remove this" the others you will be able to do with a small allen key. then unplug all the pipes to the thermostat h

  10. Thanks v much for the advice, is there any need to remove the front bumber so I can get to this canister and fit the hose or can I just disconect the the hoses and give it a whack. I'm going to remove the headlight and sidelight first is that all I need to dothen feed the hose through?
  11. I dont use my aircon anyway that's what windows are for should the pipes to the canister be cut and blocked or is that a bad thing? if you had to remove the canister on your VR what did you do with all the shit thats connected to it?
  12. That's why I want the air hose in, the car is too loud on motorways running with a power flow exhaust system also., Ive ben told that if your car has air conditioning that you can't fit the hose without removing the charcoal canister and relocating it somewhere else......? Are there any other ways to install the hose?
  13. I've just taken delivery of my brand new BMC CDA induction kit and fitted it "looks good" the only thing I am a little puzzled on is where to route the induction hose to as there is very little room to actually route it anywhere. Can anybody here help or point me in the right direction, I'm sure someone has had this problem before.

  16. Speed sensors are ABS sensors, theres fitted to every hub on the vehicle. Is your ABS light on by any chance?
  17. Thats really bad glad it all got sorted out today. I had a result today also!!!! I went to another dealership spoke to the brand manager, he out me on to the service manager. They checked the wiring and agreed that it should have been wired direct into the ABS module, they then put the car on VAG-COM, turns out the the problem all the time has been a near side rear ABS sensor that's been causing the problem, Had the origional VW delaership discovered this there would have been no problem. I purchased a new in fact I just come in from fitting it, what a shite was I had to remove the rear hub co
  18. I called VW head office today spoke to a helpfull lady who has asked me to take my car to another VW dealership for a second opinion on the work carried out by the other VW delaership who claimed to have fixed the problem, VW's technition at their main office has said that AN ABS cable should be replaced completely to the ABS module, and it's against all procedure to cut an AMS cable and joint it an old cable. Things are getting interesting !!!!! watch this space
  19. Know what you mean maybe it would be a good idea to publish a database where based on peoples experiences where a garage has gone that extra mile to get a problem solved having knowledgeable staff.
  20. if I have to I'm going to the local press aswel, the word on the street is that nobody takes a car to this delaership, wish I'd known that beforehand!!
  21. Tell me about it, I have just e-mailed the Service Manager again. This time I'm going to phone VW UK try speak to a national service manager, I'm going to demand their ISO procedures on replacing an ABS cable to the satisfaction that wont compromise safety. Also this agrage ripped me off which I won't stand for... these companies have too much money employing to many Shite staff. seems to me if they have not got a computer to do a job they have not got a clue what they're doing. Ok skool basics is what's required.
  22. Here's somthing you need to watch out for, yesterday I collected my car from the VW dealership, they said ABS light had been done etc...... They tell me to wait ouside the front while they bring the car round, 15 minutes goes by and the guy brings it to me running ABS light is out great thought no more of it an went home. Later it struck me that I had not started the car since collecting it, so went outside started the car and the ABS light was on again. Figure this the way I do, was waiting for the car for 15 minutes they started it and realised the ABS light was still on so they think that a
