I had the same issue with my VR and it was the starter switch, it is apparently quite a common issue, my money is on that mate.

If I was you , definately go for original parts to replace internal.
I did a rebuild a while back on my VR6 and if you dont get original parts you will end up spending more time on trying to source them after they dont fit. I tried non orignial parts but regretted it after the first couple of days so stuck to them from then on.

When you say blasted, do you mean sand blasted? can you get them chemically stripped as ive heard a bit about that too?

Im new to the forums and was wondering if anyone could help me with some info on refurbing my wheels?
I have just bought my second VR6 but the original BBS wheels need a refurb desperately, only problem is MONEY!!!!
Has anyone done this themselves, if so how easy/difficult was it?
How do you go about it?
They are badly corroded and bubbling but no serious curbing or anthing like that.

You can bypass the switch and take alive directly to the starter motor, see if it turns. Also do you get any dash lights come on?
