  1. Hi, does anyone know how long it takes to drive to this event from surry, want to go but seems a little far.
  2. Hey Jellsta, I have got a simlar problem, all my right indicaters stay on, the back had coroded so I changed loom, and wires and boards and still get the same problem. Problem came on when did not use car for couple of weeks,the light stays on in the dash aswell, the lights flash when the alram arms and dis-arms, i noticed the blown fuse and changed that and the relay. I am really angry withn this problem as I can't seem to fix it and my last resort is to try and change the idicater stalk.Went to an electrical garage and they told me oh we will have to come and drive your car to our garage
  3. Hi all, on doing my 16 to vr6 conversion, i was told when buying engine did not need the key imob, now it turns out i do. Anyone knoe how to get round this, and sorry if in wrong section, just need feedback as soon as poss.PM me as I know this will probably be a well kept secret.
  4. Right stripped engine down yesterday as doing chains and tensioner, am getting injecters rebuilt,gonna look at valves aswell, anyine suggest anthying else should check, whilst its stirpped.

  7. My MK3 has a got a serious back light fault.The story is that the rear right lights burn out as soon as I put in new bulbs in but only on the right and start smoking (white). I did'nt use the car for 2 weeks and went to go in and found the battery was dead. I recharged it and as soon as I connected the battery, i found that the indicators on the right were were staying on and not flashing.The indicator stalk was central, so I checked all light connections and found that if I disconnected the rear left the lights went out. So I though t easy, new looms and wires and circuit boards. Did both sid
  8. Hi all, I have found out what i need to do this conversion, guys i think i need some encouragement as it is going to be a lot of work.Those of you with a VR6 will i be rewarded by my hard work. How many supporters have i got out there ? I could have just bought a vr6 but its not fun, its to easy. See ya.

Hi again Cabrio man, yet again you have useful info, and yeah you probably thinking my car is in need of a bit of TLC, you would be right, cus since having kids I get very little time to work on tha car, and being in a flat ain't helping either. So how to you run the cable to the link, from the latch ? Any diagrams would be a real help, if you got time coulkd you please do it in paint shop.

  11. Anyone know how hard it is to change the cable on the seat latch as my has broken, at the bottom of the seat on one side/. Leather seats. Thanks in advance !
  12. Hi All I have got a real electrical problem with my indicater lights. For some reason all of the right hand side indicater lights are staying on when the keys are out of the ignition. the turning light stays on in the dash aswell even though the indicater is central. I found that If I disconect the rear left hand side loom from the circuit board the lights go out.I have replaced both circuits boards and looms and still get the same problem. Also if I press the idicater stalk down I get that tizing noise telling you have left the idicater down, if I push it up i don't get the noise. So does an

  15. HI all Right has anyone raced a FOCUS ST, AUDI 1.8T 4wd S3, and one of those MG Rover things in their standard 190bhp VR6 engine. Please let me know outcomes assuming that the other cars were standard.

  18. Here is a picture the car that is to be converted into the VR6. Changed Wheels since this photo, Got 17inch O.Z Supertourismo wheels now. Colour coded bumpers and side trims to be done once engine in.All Interior is Leather with aircon etc, was used by VW in its hey day as a demonstrator so they pull the full works on it.This is the second reason why doing the conversion because of the high spec.   22. Hi all, thanks for all your replys,pick up the engine this weekend hopefully ! As for doing a 1.8T I don't want to get involved in that as the engine was never done for the MK3 so imagine the nightmare trying to get it all rigged up,plus need to save mechanic costs. I would love to do the converstion myself, but I think its better I let a mechanic do it, I can change starter motors, take out the injectors but that is as far as it goes, gearboxes no clue about those or drive shafts. Anyone fancy helping me do as a challenge ? lol ! See ya !
  23. Hi all, I have had my 16v MK3 for 6yrs now and its time to fit the engine that I always wanted the VR6. I have been told that the MK3 16v to VR6 is one of the easiest conversions to do as the cars are more or less set up the same except the the VR Engine. I have the ECU, Loom and Keyimob it is the highline engine.Is anyone in agreement that this is an easy project to undertake ? Has anyone done this before, if so please your advise would be welcome.
