  1. Afraid not going to any meets there as i am over the water in Ireland , stuck far far away......gonna try and get my hands on an ECU somewhere.... Mecanic reckons all the sensor's are fine.... Box of matches , 2 pound of petrol and a very quiet road could be in order here.
  2. Eat this ; Mechanic recons compression is ok Goildie ; Feul consumption is good , last couple of runs was about 30mpg(think this is good for Vr???? Gav-vr6 haven't tried changing the throttle posioning sensor....2 reasons Mechanic says computer readout is spot on, something to do with degree position...And can't get hold of a second hand one here as it will cost 600 euro new and may not be the cause.... No trying to be a cheep skate but , have spent 600 euro already and gettin nowhere. would the ECU cause these type of problems???? I am greatfull for all the help Cheers Gal
  3. Cheers Goldie, he tell's me that was checked and the wires on it were all twisted . But nothing damaged. ran tests on the computer and says the lambda sensor fine.( now his computer may be wrong) but he has great faith in it?????? thanks
  4. Hi guys. I have a 94 vr6 (odb1) And the problem is it will not Idle for me and when i give it the power and hit 4000 revs it coughs and gets lumpy!!!!! I can drive the car but every time i clutch it, it dies out!!!!! I have had it with a few guys here in Ireland, but not to many people here have delt with the VR6. I have changed the plugs and leads , the engine speed sendor and the air flow meter. The garage that has it at the moment has tried all the electrics and doesn't think the problem is there?????? I have changed the Idle speed stabilizer and replaced it with a second one. The guy who
  5. please guys i really need help here. The problem is still here. The car is still in the garage at the moment and i am getting nowhere. The guy at the garage has tried nearly everything and still the car will not run...........AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH We have tried all the sensor's on his computers and all comming back clear??????? Checked the brain of the car also , and no fualts there. he thinks its un-metered air somewhere . Has anyone any idea's on how to look for this , cos its doing my head in.   8. Have the same problem on my 94 golf. Have changed the air flow meter,plugs and leads and the engine speed sensor(told buy VW computer). And still cuts out..... P.s. Whats the ISV valve.
  9. Cheers Earwig, Had the car on the computer and was told its not the electrics. Ive cleaned out the throtle body and stabliser thing(cant remember the name just gone blank) and still have the same problem. I've ordered new leads and plugs cos 1 or 2 of them seems to be earthing.....? Could this be the cause of it stalling....? gettingreally F****d off with it now. Anyone !!!!!!!! Gal
  10. Hi just wondering if you could help?? I have a 94 VR6 that when it starts up it doesn't idle unless i keep the rev's on. If i take my foot off , it dies out. The temp sencor was changed cos thought that was the problem.Then the car was put on the computer and checked again. Tild it was the Air-flow meter, To which i got a new one. I put this in and still have the problem. Does the car neeed re-set after the Air-flow meter is changed.????????? The car only has 70k on it. When driving its fine , but stop at a junction it stalls,, not all the time though???? Any idea's??? Thanks This problem just
