    Hi, it’s been a while since I have been on the forum. Nearly 8 years in fact, and I am wondering if anyway can help me find my old Golf VR6. I sold it in 2010 after insurance write off. It had a smashed headlight and needed a new front wing and bonnet, so not really a write off, but couldn’t afford to keep it at the time. Anyway, sold it and can see on the DVLA website that it was declared SORN in 2015. It was a mystic blue Golf VR6 on reg N464 AEB. It had a Highline Spec, but wasn’t a Highline, so had heated leather seats and digital climate control. I would love to know where the car is, as

    Hi All, It has been a while since I was last on the forum. Reason being back in May 2010 after I had fitted my beloved mystic blue 96 VR6 with Brembo dics and pads, new bearings and a set of new sparks, a neighborough decided it would be OK to reverse into it with their 4x4, tow bar straight through the headlight, insurance write off. The same weekend, the cam belt on my girlfriends 206GTi went, so in the space of one weekend, we were carless.     Right, I am after an OEM side skirt for my 5 door golf VR. Basically I had a blow out on the rear passenger tyre a few months back and the cap bit of the strip got blown off as well and now the skirt looks a mess, well it doesnt look perfect. Could I replace with any second had skirt from a GTi or VR6. Second I need a new drivers door rubbing strip, where is the best place to sourse, or have any of you one you no longer need. Thanks for your help.

    Is that also an Oil breather Valve. I assume its need as mine is also broke and air is leaking from the valve part.

    Right, my VR is due a service and intend on doing this myself with the help of my dad who is very handy with a spanner. I have a 96 Golf VR with about 76K miles on the clock. I did the last service 1 year ago/6000 miles ago. I changed the oil. oil filter, rear pads, brake fluid and general checks. No I know I need new front pads which is not a problems and other than an oil and filter change what else will I need to service. Thanks in advance for your knowledge. Andy

    Right Im not convinced the sound is radio interference. I was driving last night and could hear the noise so I switched off the radio and took off the head unit and still got the noise when changing up through the gears at between 2000 and 3000 rpm. This surely can be radio feed back??? Please help!

    Really, as simple as that. I also hear it when I first start the engine. So its nothing to worry about then?

    LOL!! I suppose its through the radio. Its defo not a vibration coming through the car.

    Right this is a difficult one to explain but I will have a go. When changing gear up on all gears and I getting a kind of electronic noise during the period when the revs stay high during gear change. The noise will start between 2000-3000 revs. Does anyone know what this could be.

    I have just had 2 dunlop sp1's fitted to my front. Only fitted yesterday so can not comment yet on how good they are, but were recommended by blac kcicles.com. Cost me 127 quid.

    Hi Ch0yc3, With regards to the blowing exhaust it sounds like a problem I had. On the Cat section there is a small access hole with a small rubber 'thing' in it which seems to come out over time. Think a few of the other members on here have had this problem. All i have done is fill this hole with a screw and problem seems to be solved. Like this thread by the way as I need a whole load of new OE parts for my 96 VR6

    Please can someone answer my question. I am basically going to choose between the Dunlop SP1 and the Toyo T1R (Reinforced/XL) but want to know whaty the reinforced XL bit means before I make that choice. Thank you in advance

    I have deceided to go for the Toyo T1R, However the description says it is a reinforced/XL tyre. What does these mean and will they still be OK.
