changing Rear Wheel speed sensor
scruffy replied to scruffy's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
thanks will certainly try that, the other rear one was changed by main dealership under warranty as was ABS pump, took them over 2 weeks before they would commit themselves! -
My drivers window just stopped working last summer however for some reason it went down about an inch when starting the engine! I do notice now that when I put the ignition key accross into the start position I can hear a clicking noise from inside the door as though the window was on it's way up, I can also hear the passenger one as well, all other windows work no problem, would this indicate anything obvious? there is no clicking sound when the switch is pressed like there is on other front window? thanks for now JBD !sad

Hello everyone, since my last posting I purchased a code reader best thing ever! I am getting rear passenger sensor code faulty, is it possible it may be the ring? and if so what is involved getting at the ring? and can anyone tell me what size of allen headed socket is needed to undo the sensor? thanks for now! JBD !sad

Thanks everyone for reply, I put the car in lock-up on the Friday started it up on the Monday morning and the ABS light came on! I put it into garage to have complete overhaul of rear brakes 2 weeks ago new drilled discs and green stuff pads etc, mechanic said there was nothing wrong with ABS ring or sensor (ie Nor dirt or stones)although he never removed the sensor so I guess it's the sensor, just priced one from GSF

My ABS light has come on and shows fault with wheel speed sensor, ie; Rear left wheel speed sensor G46 faulty, can anything be done with these sensors? or is it best to just renew them?. Thank you. J B D !lol

Several weeks ago after leaving car in lock-up for 4 days (Arthritis problems) the dreaded ABS came on, I have not used car untill today, when it was taken to mechanic to have complete rebuild of rear brakes (same as front) on collecting car he told me he lost thesmall rubber cap from top of brake fluid reseviour which holds plastic rod from rising? however he used another plastic cap which seems ok, fluid level is OK, as is hand brake warning light switch, nothing has been touched except new discs, bearings, and pads, abs rings changed over (they are only 18months old) I read in Bently manual

the abs light has come on again after leaving car standing in garage over weekend! I have had just over 1 years use out of car since main dealer put new abs pump on and 1 rear wheel sensor under warranty, if I check wheel sensors and find say broken wire or whatever will abs light go out or do I need trip to main dealer to reset light? there is no difference whatsoever with my brakes since light came on, car is 1997 70oddK is there a logical approach to my problem( other than get rid of it) thanks guys Jim. !sad

changing rear brake discs on vr6
scruffy replied to scruffy's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Thanks for reply and info, I was worried about disturbing abs ring that has to come off old disc and go onto new one, main dealership reckons 3hrs work at -
would like to know what problems I might encounter changing rear discs, have heard that after changing abs rotors/sensor there can be problems due to abs rotor not being aligned up and it switches off abs? I am thinking about drilled and grooved, with green stuff, any ideas or suppliers, JBD
